Hockey & Rugby Tour

Belgium, Holland, France & Germany

22nd October – 1st November 2014

Day 1 Depart Hymers College by coach no later than 1830 hrs to Hull, arriving to

check-in to your overnight ferry crossing at 2030 hrs to Rotterdam. Dinner is

included on board this evening.

Overnight: Ferry Cabins, Bed, Breakfast & Dinner

Day 2 Enjoy breakfast before you arrive in Rotterdam at 0815 hrs. Then continue on

and enjoy a training session before you visit Delph where you can wonder around

the shops and enjoy this pleasant town. Afterwards you will continue onwards and

play your first set of matches on tour.

After the matches you will head to Noordwijk where you will be staying in hotel

accommodation for the first three nights.

Included Excursion: Training Session / Visit to Delph

Overnight: Noordwijk Hotel, Bed & Breakfast

Day 3 After breakfast this morning you the girls will wander down to the hockey pitch

and enjoy a hockey master class coaching session before meeting up with the

boys for a suggested visit to the Duinrell Tiki Pool, which can be pre-booked in

advance allowing €21.00 per person to be paid on entrance. Enjoy Europe’s

biggest indoor slide complex, with its tropical pool, Lazy River and wave pool.

This afternoon the hockey players will play their second set of matches.

Match 2: Local Hockey Side v Hymers College

Optional Excursion: Duinrell Tiki Pool

Overnight: Noordwijk Hotel, Bed & Breakfast

Day 4 First thing you will walk to enjoy a training session in Noordwijk. Today you will

head into central Amsterdam, where you could enjoy some sightseeing and you

will undertake a Canal Cruise - see and hear about the buildings and history of

this fine city as you wind your way through the canals. You may want to enjoy

lunch at a local pancake house. Finally this evening you will return to Noordwijk

for a Ten Pin Bowling game.

Day 5 Check out of your hotel this morning before the boys meet there opponents of

their second set of matches on tour.

Matches 2: Local Rugby Sides v Hymers College

Afterwards continue over to Germany where you will continue onwards to

Cologne where you will check into your hostel for the next two nights on tour.

Overnight: Cologne Hostel, Bed & Breakfast

Day 6 After breakfast this morning you will head to Michael Schumacher’s Kart &

Event Centre. Here you will enjoy an hours Go Karting where you will race

against team mates and enjoy a proper Karting experience. Following this you

will undertake a boat trip on the Rhine - enjoy the fresh air sitting on the deck

and get an unforgettable view of Cologne's landmarks, including the old town

and Cathedral. This evening the girls will play their third set of hockey matches.

Included Excursions: Go Karting / Rhine Cruise

Overnight: Cologne Hostel, Bed & Breakfast

Day 7 Up early and check out this morning then head to Phantasialand one of Europe's

top theme parks. Spend the day enjoying the rides and taking in all the thrills

this park has to offer. Afterwards you will continue into Belgium and onwards to

Brussels where you will be staying in a hostel for the next two nights on tour.

Overnight: Brussels Hostel, Bed & Breakfast

Day 8 Today you could undertake a half-day sightseeing tour of Brussels and amongst

the sights is the Atomium and the social heart of the city. Alternatively you could

visit one of Belgium's famous chocolate factory’s for a tour and tasting session.

Later in the day, transfer to meet your next set of opponents.

Optional Excursion: Sightseeing Tour / Chocolate Factory

Overnight: Brussels Hostel, Bed & Breakfast

Day 9 Check out this morning and head for France. Once you arrive in Paris you will

transfer straight to Racing Metro for a pro club experience. Here you will enjoy

a coaching session from Racing coaches and watch the first team training

session (subject to schedule). You will then meet a first XV player for

autographs, followed by a Q & A session and lunch at the training ground. After

you will head to your Sport Centre Hostel where you will be staying for the final

two nights of your tour.

Day 10 There will be plenty of time today for local sightseeing and to discover the

monuments that make Paris famous. A trip up the Eiffel Tower has been

included for you along with a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral and the

Champs-Elysées Avenue. You will also enjoy a visit to the Stade de France for a

tour of the amazing stadium. Then play your final rugby match of the tour.

Overnight: Sports Centre Hostel, Bed & Breakfast

Day 11 Depart your hostel and this morning you will undertake an excursion to

Disneyland Paris, where you can enjoy the magical splendour that the world of

Disney has to offer and experience the selection of exhilarating rides and

colourful side-shows. Later you will transfer to Calais where you will board your

ferry at 2145 hrs bound for England. On arrival back to Dover at 2215 hrs

continue to Hymers College. (Own arrangements getting to/from the school)

Included Excursion: Disneyland Paris

Ferry Crossing Ferry crossing Newcastle / Amsterdam including cabins plus breakfast and

dinner on board and ferry crossing Calais / Dover.

Accommodation Hotel/Hostel accommodation as follows for the entire party sharing multi

rooms, staff in twin rooms. Should anyone require a single room – there will

be a single room supplement added to the cost.

Fixtures Four hockey matches and four rugby matches for each team (based on one

hockey squad and two rugby squads travelling), as set out in the itinerary. Coach Transport The use of a chartered Executive Coach (with air conditioning, toilet and DVD

player on board) for the tour duration, to include the driver’s accommodation

and expenses. The specific usage on a daily basis being subject to EU

regulations.
