The World at large is much more receptive of Jesus than is America. As a matter of fact, missionaries around the world are winning souls to Jesus at a glorious rate. Leading the way is the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission Board. Southern Baptists deploy over 3600 missionaries who engage over 870 people groups around the world. In 2015, 1.9 million people heard the gospel as a result of the ministry of IMB missionaries. We started 6,138 churches on international fields accounting for 175,290 new believers and 15,058 trained pastors. As great as that sounds, we have yet to engage an estimated 3203 people groups with the Gospel. Not YET. But we are making great progress. YOU can make a difference through our yearly Christmas Offering for World Missions. This year, our Church Goal is to raise $3000 during the month of December. All of this offering will go directly to missionaries on international fields. Here are a few ways our offerings make an impact. $50 provides 25 cups of coffee in Mexico City for missionaries who meet with business people to share the gospel. $200 provides train tickets for six months of visits with Muslims in Moscow. $500 provides Bibles and videos to share the gospel in the heart language of refugees. $1000 provides sound equipment for the Jones family planting a church in Japan. $5000 provides a 3-week trip for a missionary family to access a hard to reach people group in Nepal’s mountains. All gifts, large and small, pool together for so many other opportunities for our missionaries to reach people for Jesus. This year, you will meet missionary friends of mine at our Christmas Banquet, Wednesday, December 6th. Sam and Mary Waldron were missionaries to the Philippines. They will be here to give us insight into the life of an international missionary. Brother Sam was the interim pastor at Pine Forest when I was a child. Much of my love for missions today comes from their stories of how God worked through them. Pray about what God would have you give during December. Also, clear your calendar for the Christmas Banquet on December 6th. Let’s play a role in making an impact for Jesus around the world.

Greetings everyone! Merry Christmas and I hope everyone had a wonderful

Thanksgiving and that the Lord blessed you with a great time amongst fami-

ly and friends. Seeing as this is my first time writing in this newsletter I want

to thank everyone for giving me the amazing opportunity to come and serve

at Bellevue Baptist. It really is with great joy that I worship with you all and

I feel truly blessed to have this chance to work, serve, and fellowship with

such a God loving and God fearing congregation.

Coming up during this busy holiday month we are going to spend

our first Wednesday night putting up Christmas decorations. We will spend

the evening of December 6th decorating the youth room with our Christmas

attire followed by our lesson continuing the series about missional living.

Later in the month we will have our Youth Christmas party. If you want to

participate in the gift exchange make sure to bring a wrapped present not

exceeding ten dollars. We will have drinks and snacks provided. The party

will be Wednesday the 20th of December during normal church hours.

We will continue our series on missional living throughout Decem-

ber. As we've already read in James 2, we see that some of the major road

blocks in living a missional life are the prejudices that we come across daily.

These prejudices and the favoritism that we play is in direct disobedience to

God's command to love our neighbor. James 2:1 states “My brothers, hold

your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ without showing favoritism”.

We should actively be fighting the sinful nature that leads us to that favorit-

ism. Despite whatever our friends might think of us, or the way we might be

treated because of it, we are representatives of Christ. We cannot represent

Him correctly when we are unwilling to talk to someone because they look

different, come from a different background, or even speak a different lan-

guage. Our jobs as Christians is to live a life glorifying to God because ulti-

mately all glory belongs to him. I want to encourage everyone as we go

throughout our day to shed our selfish desires and to attempt to live a life

that would resemble the life led by Christ; one that can only be done by the

help of the Lord and by a faith in Him. Pastor Jim defined faith as “an active

trust in all that God has said concerning his person, promise, and precepts”. I

pray that we trust that God will have our backs despite whatever we encoun-

ter in this world so long as we are living a life that is glorifying to Him and

because of that faith we can live a life of everyday missions in the hopes of

spreading the good Gospel of Christ.

AN ATTIDUDE OF GRATITUDE – NOW THAT’S THANKS-GIVING! We all have much to be thankful for . Patti and I are no different. We had a new granddaughter this year and the week-end before Thanksgiving we had a wedding, and added to our fami-ly a new son-in-law and 3 ready-made grand children to boot! As you can tell, it’s been a very busy November for us. We are grateful to our Lord for His every provision and His hand that always guides. We pray your Thanksgiving gave you many reasons to re-flect and to give thanks to our Heavenly Father in this special sea-son too! Our Celebration Choir has been working very hard to prepare our

Christmas musical, The Greatest Story Ever Told. We’re beginning our Christmas season with 2 great presenta-tions this Sunday, December 3rd, dur-ing our Morning Worship at 11:00 and again at our Evening Worship at 6:00. You’ve heard it announced and now’s the time to be sure that first, you’re here, and second, you invite someone to come and be a part of one of these services. You are our best ad-vertisement. People will come be a part of something you invite them to, espe-cially if you’re excited about it. This is a wonderful collection of new and tra-

ditional songs alike. You will not only hear the message through song, as sung by our choir, but enjoy the sights of the Christmas season through our video presentation. Please come and bring your friends and family. Join us as once again we celebrate the story that never grows old. It’s Christmas – the birth of Jesus, Emmanuel – God with us, our Savior and King! IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE, BUT 2017 IS COMING TO A RAPID CLOSE! Another year has come and is just about gone and our Lord Jesus has been with us all the way. As we look to the New Year ahead, may we continue to trust in Him and bring Him glory in and through our lives in all we do. Patti and I wish you, our Bellevue Church Family, a most mer-ry Christmas and the best, most blessed, New Year to come! God Bless You! Bro. Harry
