What I am passionate about. Everyday I celebrate life through belly dance. My name is Robin Easley. I am a professional belly dancer and teacher. I dance both as solo artist (Princess Michelliea) and as part of a group; The Desert Shadows Belly Dancers of Lafayette. Dancing has always been my passion and artistic outlet. At just 11 years old, I took my first job as an assistant dance teacher. That paved the way to my future in dance. From the Alexandria Ballet Theatre, I auditioned for Universal Dance Association where I toured the U.S. teaching dance teams from college and high school. My dance education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Choreographic Dance with further dance study in New York and Las Vegas. When I am not dancing, I am looking after children. I am a pediatric nurse. I love children just as much as I love to dance. My nature is giving and nothing makes me happier than the smiles on my students or patients’ faces. I was first introduced to Belly Dance in 2007 . After my first class, I was hooked and there was no looking back. I am now a professional performer, teacher and choreographer and could not be happier. People always ask me “why belly dance” and I really can’t answer that question. There isn’t just one answer. Some people have told me it’s the friends they have made in class, others will tell you about the confidence they have built, their new found femininity or the love of the music and costumes. There are too many reasons to list. I love everything about it. Give belly dancing a chance. It could change your life for the better. That’s why I love to teach it. 8 Week Program starting February 7th, Thursdays at 6:30 PM in the Group Exercise Room $100 for Members and $150 for Non-Members Complimentary Demo Class - Saturday, February 2nd at 1:00 PM in the Group Exercise Room.
