Pope Francis “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God”
A heart that loves God and neighbor, genuinely and not merely in words, is a pure heart; it can see God. In his hymn to charity, Saint Paul says that “now we see in a mirror, dimly, but to the extent that truth and love prevail, we will then be able to see “face to face”. Jesus promises that those who are pure in heart “will see God”.
Keeping a heart free of all that tarnishes love: that is holiness.

Catholic Women's Cluster Theater Bus Trip This fall, the Catholic Women's Cluster will travel to the Fireside to see "The Buddy Holly Story" on Thursday, October 24th. Watch your bulletin for details.
St. Stephen Catholic Church invites you to their Annual Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, September 8, 2019. The Pork Chop Dinner, Bake Sale and Meat Raffle will be in the St. Stephen’s Family Center following the Mass at 10:00 AM. Dinner will be served from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
Everyone is welcome! Tickets are $12.00 for Adults & $6.00 for children age 6-12. The Menu includes: Pork Chop. Potatoes, Baked/green beans, Applesauce, Coleslaw, Roll, Salad & Dessert

“Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you." (Luke 14:13-14) We have a difficult time with the concept of giving without expecting something in return. Even when we give to charity we often want something in return – a raffle ticket, a dinner, a chance to play golf or our name in print. Yet, as Christian stewards, we need to remember that the true reward for our giving awaits us in heaven.
Beloit Regional Hospice will be hosting a grief support group for any adult who has experienced the death of a loved one. This group begins: Tuesday, September 10th and will meet each Tuesday through October 22nd from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. These groups meet at the BRH offices. There is no charge to attend, but advance registration for the group is requested. Walk-ins are welcome for the first two sessions.
