Efficient, results -oriented workingprocesses are top priority in bothresearch and routine laboratories.Advanced laboratory technologymakes a significant contribution toshortening processing times.
For decades, ROTANTA centrifugesfrom Hettich have been distinguished by the highest quality. They have responded to the fast -pacedchanges in laboratory environments withthe continuous development of new, technically outstanding solutions.
The ROTANTA 460 models are carryingon this tradition of quality. Enhancedperformance and an extended range ofaccessories guarantee fast, trouble-freeoperation in daily laboratory use.
With a maximum capacity of 3 litres per run, they are proving themselves inclinics and laboratory centres, as well asin Life Science R&D departments.
For sample processing in clinical chem-istry, a wide selection of adapters areavailable to accommodate the mostvaried types of tubes.
Biotechnology, molecular biology andthe pharmaceutical industry value theROTANTA 460 especially for its auto-clavable and aerosol- tight accessories.
These versatile benchtop centrifugesfeature a filter plate rotor with a RCF of 6,446 for purifying DNA/RNA.
ROTANTA 460
Hettich manufactures high quality centrifuges. All stages from design to end productare continually subjected to strictestcontrols. Evidence is provided by correspondingcertificates.
The ISO 9001:2000 certificate accre-dited to the entire company proves the extreme care and responsibilityHettich puts into the manufacture ofcentrifuges and their accessories.

Control Panels
The fully developed up to date Hettich control panels meetthe requirements of the users and are extremely easy to operate. Entry of the parameters is fast, precise, and convenientwith selector keys on the water-protected foil keypad.
The large display is well readable. During centrifugationthe actual values of the parameters are indicated.
The N Control Panel
The sophisticated S control panel is standard with the modelsROTANTA 460 S, ROTANTA 460 RS and ROTANTA 46 RSC.It enables programming with effortless ease. Whether entering single parameters or chaining complete program-mes, the clearly arranged display with its selector keys andadjusting knob provides extreme user- friendliness.
The S Control Panel
Speed RPM: Input in increments of 10.
Relative centrifugal force RCF: Input in increments of 1.
Radius r: Input in mm, when RPM or RCF need to be determined.
Time t: Input in minutes and seconds, max. 999 min, 59 sec.
Run-up/run-down times: Input of acceleration and brakingramps in levels 1 - 9, or time-controlled in minutes andseconds. 0 = unbraked run-down.
Deceleration with brake force cut -off: Input of the cut-offspeed in RPM.
Integral of the centrifugal acceleration provides continuousinformation on the accumulated RCF the centrifuged materialis exposed to during centrifugation.
Temperature T: Input in increments of 1°C within a range of - 20°C to + 40° C (ROTANTA 460 RS and ROTANTA 46 RSC).
Memory: Up to 89 complete programmes can be memorizedand recalled by their storing number. They remain in thememory even after the centrifuge has been switched off.
for special routine or scientific applications with centrifu-ges featuring the S control panel:
Data report system Detailed information on the Hettich data report system is presented in our brochure HETTINFO, which we will be happyto send you on request.
Chaining of programmes allows to programme the centrifugeto run different programmes in succession.
Second independent tacho system for calibrating the speedmeasuring instrument as required by quality managementsystems.
Key-operated switch for locking and protecting programmes.
Optional equipment
With ROTANTA 460, 460 R and 46 RC the N control panel is standard. It features the following functions:
Speed RPM: Input in increments of 10.
Relative centrifugal force RCF: Input in increments of 10.
Change-over RPM/RCF: By entering the rotor radius r/mm the centrifuge calculates and indicates speed or RCF.
Time t: Input in minutes and seconds, max. 99 minutes, 59 sec.
Temperature T: Input in increments of 1°C within a range of - 20°C to + 40° C (ROTANTA 460 R and ROTANTA 46 RC).
Run-up/run-down times: Input of acceleration and brakingramps in levels 1 - 9 or unbraked run-down. Level 9 alwaysrepresents the shortest possible run-up or run-down.
Impulse key: For short centrifuging operations. The rotorspins at the preselected speed or RCF as long as the key ispressed.
Memory: 3 complete running programmes can be storedand recalled. They remain in the memory even after the centrifuge has been switched off.
