Introduction/ Synopsis

This film is about a girl who wants to play football but she has a problem with her family because as she is a woman her parents do not allow her to play and her religion too. Sometimes she plays in the park with the boy. When Jules discovered her, she invites her to have a trial in her local team. We can see her situation and the things that she has to do not to be discovered that she plays in a team. We can see other things like the problems with her family and the feel of love.

Woman in the film

Jesminder must to face up to her family not to be the

woman they want. Her priority must being to be a good cooker and to look for a husband.

She has taste in some things that are consider typical for boys and not for girls.

We can see this situation when her mother says to her: You played enough, running naked in front of men. It’s time for you to start being a woman. In the other hand we can see family Jules her father support her but her mother not.

Throughout the film we can appreciate that Jess notice that she will be more happy if she tell the truth.

Sexuality in the film

We have two moments where it shows this subject

First: When Jules mother’s accuses her to be lesbian.

Second: When her friend explains to her that he is gay.

We can also see caring attitude among the girls who play a sport for boys and considered making suspicion, because people think that women's sports are hiding many lesbian relationships.

Sexuality in the film

Furthermore none of the two protagonists put as priority the idea of finding a boyfriend and people question their sexual orientation that is beyond the stereotype.

An interesting example is the attitude adopted by the mother of Jules when she thinks her daughter is a lesbian, the accused and his daughter despises. When the situation is clarified the mother approves and said to her that it doesn’t care to her that she is lesbian.

Physique

Jesminder is ashamed of herself when she was changing of clothes in the changing room because of her body. Also she is afraid because she doesn’t want that people see her leg with the burn.

Throughout the film she is accepting her body and to feel better with herself.

Opinion

In my opinion it is a very good film and worth to see and learn things from it. It is very important cases as is sex discrimination in society and different cultures but not prove a problem here. This comedy helps us to raise in light-hearted and entertaining the problems a couple has to face for failure to comply with what is expected of her as a woman.

Opinion

The film clearly shows the conflict between the expectations of family and community has Jesminder and age groups in their desire to play football, anything that fit the traditional model of femininity, of what is considered agood woman Hindu
