The Model 424x dyno can accommodate up to a140” wheelbase with just the touch of a button.Whether you are troubleshooting a 4-wheel drivepickup or tuning an all wheel drive vehicle,this is a system you should seriouslyconsider.

All Dynojet chassis dynamometers are multi-directional. Both front and rear wheel drive

vehicles can be tested in either direction.

The 424xLC2 utilizes a pair of 224xLC's along with an ingenious wheelbaseadjustment system, the 424xLC2 can handle all the popular AWD vehicles onthe road today. Along with offering the precise control from the eddy currentload absorption units, the system also eliminates any potential speed biasbetween the two drums. This virtue is critical on some of the latest computercontrolled AWD systems.

As with the 224xLC, load tests can be performed including step, sweep and loaded rollon. Closed loop load testing is also available by targeting engine RPM, speed orpercentage of load. A simple click of the mouse or keyboard can turn the 424xLC2 backinto an inertia only dynamometer or into a dual eddy current unit. The torque cellcalibration routine takes less than a minute toperform. Each eddy current unit attaches to theroller directly by way of a splined shaft, eliminatingissues such as belt slippage or failure whilemaintaining superior repeatability.

This application is recommended for all-wheel drive vehicles not exceeding 1500hp +or 200mph. Also recommended for front and rear wheel drive vehicles not exceeding1800hp + and 200mph on the Model 248x.

Dynamometer EX+ HardwareDynoware EX+ dynamometer hardware uses the latest highspeed technology to link your computer to the dyno. Every dyno systemcomes standard with 4 modules (listed below), and the Dynoware EX+ iseasily upgraded to accommodate your needs. The modular design allowsyou to expand your testing capabilities as new modules are released.

Atmospheric Sensing Module:The Atmospheric Sensing Module measures absolute pressure, airtemperature, and relative humidity. These measurements are used by theWinPEP dynamometer software to correct power and torque measurements tostandard atmospheric conditions according to an SAE, Standard, DIN, JIS, orEEC formula.

RPM Module:The RPM Module receives and processes signals from up to 2 inductivepickups for measurement of engine RPM. Each input has an automatic gaincircuit to compensate for a wide variance of ignition systems.

Dynamometer I/O Module:The Dynamometer Input/Output Module sends and receives data from thedynamometer and the handheld pendant. The module also contains a buzzerand light which are activated when either the tire or dynamometer speed limitis approached.

CPU Module:The CPU Module contains a 32-bit processor which acquires data from theexpansion modules and communicates the data to the computer running theWinPEP software. The processor queries the expansion modules to determinewhich modules are connected. The CPU Module fastens to an attractive stand for placement on the computer or work bench. Each additional modulethen plugs conveniently into the one below it, providing expansion for future modules.

About WINPEP7 SoftwareDynojet's WinPEP (Windows® Performance EvaluationProgram) uses a Windows® File Manager style selectionwindow, as well as an outline selection window toaccess previous runs and store new ones. Runs arestored by Make, Model, and Name.

Objectives The Software Engineers at Dynojet understand your need toattain the maximum performance from the vehicles you evaluate.For this reason, they have developed a user-friendly interfacewhich will allow you to easily develop new dyno runs, viewpreviously stored runs, and compare multiple runs with the clickof a mouse button. Whether you are new to the benefits of dynotesting or an experienced performance leader, the repeatabilityand diagnostic tools of the WinPEP software will give you theprofessional results you are looking for.

System RequirementsDynojet recommends obtaining a computer system from a localsupplier who will assemble the system from individualcomponents. The benefit in doing this is twofold: 1) Thecomponents and software in a scratch-built system are usually ofhigher quality than the components used in mass-producedsystems purchased from a typical computer superstore. 2)When you obtain a computer from a local builder you also gettheir services should a problem arise. While problems may befew and far between, having a local source for assistance can be invaluable.

Dynojet’s WinPEP7 CD-ROM includes video tutorials to walkyou through the features and functions of the software.

Regardless of where you are testing, the units of measurementand language can be selected to suit your needs. You canchoose from either preset selections (US, Metric, Japanese) orcustom settings from easy-to-use drop-down menus.

In dual graph mode thegraph screen is splithorizontally. The split canbe scaled to your liking. In this example Air/Fuel is scaled to 1/3rd of the screen under a powergraph.

Printing options allow theuser to add customgraphics such as yourshop logo, which will beprinted on the graphsgiven to your customers.

Use the“Export Graph”function to generatean image file in BMP, JPG,EMF or WMF file formats.This makes it possible forothers to view run datawithout the need forspecial software.

You can use the “Export Data”function to either generate adetailed text file or a file that canbe imported into programs likeExcel. You can then use Excel(or similar programs) to createyour own graphs or charts.

Notice the results when comparing results from an inertia dynorun with a loaded sweep test. The time to perform that test isdramatically different, but when viewed versus RPM, the resultsare the same in this case. If the vehicle maintains a level ofconsistency, you can count on the Dynojet load control systemto yield consistent, repeatable results (notice the spark and AFRwere identical on the loaded vs. inertia only run).

Using our Winpep software has justbecome easier! Engine RPM signals recordedby our inductive RPM cables can occasionally bevery unsteady and difficult to graph correctly, especiallywith aftermarket ignition systems. This is due to excessiveRF interference noise.
