2014 SPONSORSHIP PACKAGESHeroes’ Legacy Scholarships Benefit children of those who have fallen in battle, have died or have become disabled through their active military service since September 11, 2001.

ABOut tHE FISHER HOuSE GOLF CLASSIC: In its 11th year, the tournament is the

major fundraising event for Fisher House Foundation, having raised over $850,000 in each of

the past two years and more than $6 million since it began. The tournament attracts over 50

corporate sponsors, 288 players, and participation from senior military, Members of Congress,

and Wounded Warriors who join together to help Fisher House Foundation fulfill its mission

to reunite military and Veterans’ families during the hospitalization of a loved one. the funds raised from the 2014 Fisher House Golf Classic will provide scholarship grants to the Heroes’ Legacy Scholarship Program, which are awarded to selected students to help defray the costs of tuition, books, and fees at any accredited u.S. post-secondary institution of higher learning.

ABOut tHE HEROES LEGACy SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAm: Prior

to taking the oath of office as President, Barack Obama wrote a children’s book,

titled Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters. The President chose to donate

his after-tax proceeds to Fisher House Foundation specifically to establish a

scholarship fund for the children of fallen and disabled service members. The

book went on sale on Nov 16, 2010, and the first proceeds were used to

fund scholarship grants to qualified recipients for the 2011-12 academic year.

Additionally, Fisher House Foundation receives contributions from other

organizations and individuals to help fund the Heroes’ Legacy Scholarships program.

ABOut FISHER HOuSE: Fisher House Foundation is best known for the network of over

60 comfort homes on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. The houses are 5,000

to 16,800 square foot homes, with up to 21 suites, donated to the military and Department of

Veterans Affairs. The Foundation provides support to families of patients receiving care at the

nearby medical center by ensuring that no one pays for their stay at a Fisher House. Over 20,000

families will stay at a Fisher House this year, many of them the loved ones of wounded service

members who served in Operation New Dawn (Afghanistan). In addition to constructing new

houses, Fisher House Foundation continues to support existing Fisher Houses and help individual

military families in need. We are also proud to administer and sponsor Scholarships for Military

Children, Hero Miles, Hotels for Heroes, and co-sponsor the Newman’s Own Awards.
