Exalted Ruler’s Message

By: Kellie Smith

Yes! This is my next to last message to the members of our Lodge as your Exalted Ruler. What a year! Where has the time gone? February is here and our Lodge still has plenty of activities: Super Bowl Sunday Potluck (Please bring down a dish to share) We also have our major Charity Fundraising event. This year`s Charity Ball event is titled-“LOVE IS IN THE AIR” , which is on Saturday 13th this year. The funds generated from this event and other Donations throughout the year provide the monies to support all the charity work the Lodge and members do. I would like to extend my deep appreciation and thanks to all the volunteers of our Lodge for their hard work throughout the year. My year would not be as memorable as it is without your outstanding efforts. God Bless You and Your Families and God Bless Our Troops. Kellie Smith, ER ELKS CARE ELKS SHARE

SOLD OUT

Very successful Special Olympics fund raiser

(Meat loaf dinner) great job for our Special

Children.

This event was held on, Saturday, January 16th.

What a great turn out! And the food was

Excellent!

Hildy, Kathy, Carolyn

Thank You for your generosity!!!

Hello,

I just wanted to let you all know that the Meat Loaf dinner

PER. Carolyn Smith graciously put together was a success!

Thank you Carolyn, and Kellie for the Meat Loaf. Chris

Michaels and Sharon Miller, for the potatoes and green

beans. Hildy Neilson for the willingness to help serve

(especially after I asked last minute!) and Ira Cohen for

cashiering (also last minute). :0)

The dinner sold 64 tickets in a half an hour and we

wished we had planned for more!. I also want to send out a

special thanks to Carol Lunceford who arrived for the dinner

and found herself asked to perform the raffle and 50/50.

You did an excellent job with both, the two donated over

$75 to the Special Olympics!

All in all over $500 dollars were raised and the food

was primarily donated by their preparers in order to allow an

exceptional fundraiser for Special Olympics. These proceeds

will be included in the donation our lodge intends to give at

the Polar Plunge 2016 on Sat. February 20th.

Additionally, if you worry about being left out! This

year the members of the Polar Plunge team is looking for

volunteers so if you are interested or have any additional

donations or questions please contact me at (520) 279-1662.

Keep Smiling,

Kathy
