The main choices are all doors opening one way, a single door to one side (which depending on the configuration can either have a handle on the outside or not, so be careful!), or incorporating a set of french doors. The next major decision is whether you want them to stack inside or outside. Most open out as they will give you a lower threshold and more internal living space. Open in doors are normally specified where you have restrictions such as a juliet balcony.
