A uniquely peaceful park based on a garden theme,with pitches set amongst lawns, shrubs and flowerbeds.

The park is within 800 metres of a championship fly-fishing lake, the surrounding country park is a havenfor bird-watchers and walkers.

All pitches have electric hook-ups, and the toilets andshowers have been refurbished to a very highstandard and are heated in the winter. There is autility room with dish-washing and ironing facilities.

The park is close to Bath with its historic spa andshops, Bristol and Weston-super-Mare are within easyreach and the park is an excellent base for exploringthe Mendip Hills and West Country attractions.

What makes a Park Best of British?Best of British Touring and Holiday Parks is agroup of five star, privately owned parksthroughout the United Kingdom, all of themcommitted to providing the highest quality offacilities and of customer service. The Group isoverseen by a Board of Directors, all of whomare park-owners.

The criteria which a park has to meet in order to beaccepted as a member of Best of British fall into twocategories.Firstly, the park is visited by one of the Best of BritishDirectors to ensure that the park and themanagement style fit the quality and service ethos ofBest of British. On completion of a successful parkvisit, the park-owners are required to sign up to theBest of British Members’ Charter. The Charterstipulates that members adhere to the followingprinciples:• To give visitors that additional special welcome

on their arrival at the park and throughout theirstay

• To provide the highest standards of service andfacilities on their park

• To offer visitors a Best of British guide on arrivalto make them aware of other parks in thegroup, all of them committed to a similar highlevel of quality and customer service.

Secondly, the park needs to attain a five-star grading,the highest level in the British Graded Holiday ParksScheme which is administered in Scotland, Englandand Wales by, or on behalf of, the relevant tourismauthorities.Parks are visited annually by trained, impartialassessors and the star rating awarded is based onthe cleanliness, the environment, and the qualityof facilities and service provided, and reflects theoverall quality of the park. The five-star rating isreserved for those parks of exceptional qualitywhich provide specific key facilities and services.To achieve a five star grading, a park has to have:• A basic groceries outlet either on the park or

nearby• Appropriate lighting throughout the park• Twenty-four hour access to a public telephone• Heating available in any toilet block open

between 1 September and 31 May, whenrequired

• Electric hook-up points for 75% of touringcaravan/motor-home pitches
