Bull City Burger and Brewery is a locally owned, independent restaurant and craft brewery located in downtown Durham. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner seven days per week. The beef served is local pasture raised with no added hormones and antibiotic free. And the owners take pride in using as many local ingredients as possible to make everything from scratch. A veggie burger option is available called the Joan Jett. And while you’re there for the burger be sure to also try the deep fried pickle chips and duck frites.

The Parlour makes incredible ice cream by hand, including sorbets and non-dairy options including Vegan Chocolate. Owners Vanessa and Yoni Mazuz started out in 2011 making ice cream at The Cookery and in 2012 ran a Kickstarter campaign to open up their own shop. Now we can’t imagine downtown without them!

Best Professor & Must-Take ClassWinner: Dean Wilson & American Dreams,American Realities

Gerald L. Wilson, Senior Associate Dean of Trinity College and Pre-Law Advisor, is a native of Winston-Salem. His undergraduate degree is from Davidson College. He has a degree from Duke Divinity School, a Masters in Religion from Duke and a Ph.D. in History from UNC-Chapel Hill. He has been the University’s Pre-Law Advisor for 34 years. He served as Chair of the Pre-Law Advisors National Council and has published various articles on religion, education, history and pre-law matters in regional and national publications. He has lectured on various topics throughout the nation. He is also an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church.

Each semester, Dean Wilson teaches one seminar, “Leadership In American History” and one lecture course, “American Dreams, American Realities” - voted this year’s must-take class. It’s no surprise that the “Must-Take Class” is taught by the “Best Professor.”
