• Introduction of UGC sponsored GIAN (Global Initiative for Academic Network) in five areas: Commerce and Economics from 2016-17 – Online MOOCS courses in EMMRC in the subjects of Geography and Sericulture from the year 2016-17

• The initiative to grant autonomy to willing PG departments from 2017-18. Fourteen departments have volunteered for the autonomy

• Launching of DST – ‘Inspire’ Internship Science Camps in schools to popularize science education. • Launching of 100 free meritorious centenary scholarships and Bharat Ratna Centenary Awards. • Free Wi-Fi facility on University Campus • Establishment of a unique center –‘DRISTI’ –for the education of the visually challenged. • To reach out to educationally backward region, a satellite center has been set up in Chamarajanagar.

4. Karnatak University • Dr. D.C. Pavate Memorial Fellowships for research in Cambridge University– To provide a wider exposure for scholars of Indian origin below the age of 40 in the field of International relations, Business studies and Science disciplines at Cambridge University, UK by offering financial assistance.

• “Campus to Community Programme” – Innovative Concept of undertaking the University to village “Mansur” near Dharwad has been employed as a Model Village and following programmes have been conducted.

exposure to the students and faculty The project has two programmers 1. Svagata.eu: Ghent University, Belgium involving seven European Universities. 2. Fusion: Bournemouth University, England with nine European University.

7. Karnataka State Women’s University

8. Davanagere University Internet Education and Spoken English classes: Under the financial assistance of RUSA programme, the University has been equipped with Wi-fi network for entire campus.

The Department has been conducting orientation program after the class hours to the students

Conducting Bridge Courses With the assistance of RastriyaUcchatharShikshaAbhiyan, The University has provided 5 KV Capacity

UPS for all P G Departments which has boosted the Departmental faculty members to take up additional bridge courses for the students of their respective departments even after the regular working hours.

With the help of this Uninterrupted Power Supply, the faculties are using power point presentations via LCD Projectors and students are extremely happy for these new developments.

Over and above usage of Central Library: The hostel students are using the central library up to 8:30pm from 8:30am due to the availability of

continuous power supply through UPS. This has contributed for the academic up-gradation of the students for a greater level. The students are happy about the cleanliness maintained in the campus through painting of all

buildings and hostels. RastriyaUcchatharShikshaAbhiyan has definitely contributed the University to have best practices of

the kind mentioned above. The University has also planned for encouraging for still more such best practices in the days to come.

9. Kannada University • Curriculum designed to include different skills for employability • Outreach programmes like Seminars and Workshops, awareness camps, focus group discussions,
