Q4: Is there any one best style of management? Does management matters for an organization?

MANAGEMENT: Management is a process of coordinating work activities so that they are completed efficiently and effectively by working with and through other people. MANAGER: Manager is a person who is to perform management in an organization (a deliberate arrangement of people to accomplish some specific purpose).He is some one who works with and through other people by coordinating their work activities in order to accomplish organizational goals. MANAGEMENT STYLE: Managers have to perform many roles in an organization and how they handle various situations depends on their style of management. A management style is an overall method of leadership used by a manager. The key to good management is to understand the key variables in a situation and to find the right permutation of those variables that best addresses it.BEST STYLE FOR MANAGEMENT: Management doesn’t have any single best style. Being an effective manager means knowing when to use the right management style. The management style you select depends on your people’s skill and knowledge, available resources (like time, money), desired results and of course the task before you. Although there are many styles that can be consider best for management but the three most effective management styles are as follows:

Participatory style: In this style the individual knows and understands his or her parts as it relates to the project or task. When people on your team know where they fit in the big picture, they are more likely to be motivated to complete the task. This will give them a sense of value and encourage them to take ownership of their piece of the project. Directing style: In this style the manager let the employees know what they need to do, how they are going to do, and when they must be

finished. This style may seem cold and impersonal but you still have an opportunity to be a motivating and accessible manager. Teamwork style: In this style if you want to expedite a project and optimize a process for completing that project, managing by teamwork is the way to go. Successful teamwork depends on coordinated efforts among the staff, as well as solid communication skills.

MANAGEMENT MATTERS FOR AN ORGANIZATION: The management is very important for an organization because without a manager an organization cannot run. Management makes all the people in the organization more productive. Managers take decisions and transmit orders. Manager coordinates own group’s work with that of the group in which he is a subordinate. Manager clears difficulties out of path of subordinate. Work can be a source of satisfaction or punishment dependent on controllable conditions (manager and management). Managers help in planning, organizing, controlling and leading. An organization can never be without management. Managers help the organization by organizing and managing the assets of the company, both human and technical, to achieve a desired and planned outcome.
