Best way to Bypass Content Filter Software

Internet filters or commonly known to be as Content filter tools helps a user to resisttime-wasting Internet surfing by employees and provide functionality to theadministrator to block these websites that could harm the company network. Now-a-days many Internet filter applications started blocking access to proxy websites, thatare used to be the most common method to bypass the filter. But there are times whenan Internet filter blocks a legitimate website that is needed for work. Apart from theRight an administrator holds, a user still can access the website without a proxy byfinding its IP address instead.

More and more Internet connections are being filtered, from public Wi-Fi andworkplace connection filtering to ISP and country-level censorship. However, thereare still ways to get around this filtering and view blocked websites.

Use a VPN

One of the common methods which is also described above is through connecting aVirtual Private Network and all traffic coming from your computer will be redirectedover that VPN. In other words, if you’re connected to a VPN located in Australia, allyour network traffic will be redirected to Australia before it emerges. Replies will besend to the server in Australia, which will forward them back to you.

Use Private Internet access

The Private internet access has the best combination of a huge network and an easy touse interface. They consist of 2700 servers in tons of different countries, their clientsconnect almost instantly, and best of all, you can pay with almost any type ofaccount. They even accept gift cards as payment, so if you have a half-used Starbucksgift card, you can use that to sign up for a VPN.

Use TunnelBear

As a Content Filter tool, TunnelBear provides one with the functionality to just clickthe dial in the application. Once you are done with it then you don’t even need toconfigure the VPN in Windows. They have a free version and a paid upgrade that’sdefinitely worth the price.

DNS Server

This method is the least likely to work. Some Internet service providers haveimplemented filtering by changing their Dynamic DNS servers to redirect requestsfor the blocked websites to another website. Some places that filter their Internetconnections may use something like the web filter solution offered by Open DNS.

Assuming the filtering is just at the DNS level and requests to other DNS serversaren’t being blocked, you can get around the filtering by setting a custom DNS serveron your device. This overrides and bypasses the default DNS server controlled byyour Internet service provider or the organization running the network. Usesomething like Google Public DNS and you’ll know no DNS-level filtering is takingplace.

Tor

Tor allow user to browse anonymously. It does this by routing your web browsingover and encrypted network before it emerges at an endpoint, which will likely be inan uncensored, unfiltered location. You shouldn’t use Tor to access sensitive, unencrypted data, but Tor will let you access blocked websites on any connection.

Proxy

Blocked sites can also be accessed using a standard proxy. System-wide proxiesgenerally function similarly to VPNs, but they’re not as reliable — for example, theyonly work with certain programs, not every program on your computer. If you wantto pay for a service and send all your traffic over it, you’re better off with a VPN.

SSH Tunnel

SSH Tunnel works similar like VPN for securely tunnelling your traffic. If you’relooking to pay for such a service, you’ll probably want to get a VPN. However, ifyou’re a geek, you may already have an SSH server you can access remotely.

If you do have an SSH server you can access, you can connect to it remotely and setup tunnelling, redirecting all your web browsing traffic over the secure connection.
