“Short Theatre” is described as “a time and a place” that offers a kind of official identity to a vastcommunity of actors, stage directors, performers and theatre operators who are often denied

visibility because of their experimental nature. It’s perhaps the city’s only true “fringe” festival andoffers a prestigious stage to new drama, dance, music and multi-media as well as a forum for debatesand encounters focusing on new artistic idioms. Organised by the association AREA06, “Short Thea-tre” benefits from the contribution of regional andcity authorities, as well as that of foreign embassiesand cultural institutes. The venture is also a partnerof “The International Young Makers’ Exchange”that aims to promote and develop the work of stu-dent and young emerging performance artists at aformative stage in their careers. Among the namesto look out for are those of dancers Simon Tanguyand, Boris Charmatz whilst drama features the likesof Marcido Marcidorjs and Famosa Mimosa, HugoSanchez, Psicopompo Teatro.
