The Boys & Girls Clubs of Conejo & Las Virgenes offers quality programs throughout the school yearin education, the arts, health, sports, computer technology, and leadership. Our four Conejo ValleyClubs and two LasVirgenes Clubs are designed for grades K through 8 during the school year and areopen 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. On the weekends both days are geared for ages 3 – 14; fun SaturdayEnrichment Classes,Weekend Travelers and Saturday and Sunday low-competitive Sports Leagues.Throughout the fun-filled eleven-week Summer Program,campersmay participate in traditional daycamps, traveling and sports camps, plus camp-out adventures and a Sunday Soccer Sports League.

THE ARTSDRAMA CLUBDo you like to perform? This class introduces improvisation andensemble acting skills through participatory activities andindividual character development. Students will gainconfidence, speaking skills and self-esteem by learning how toperform in front of a live audience.Class Fee: $80.00 for Non-Monthly Members

ELEMENTS OF DESIGNUnleash your inner artist! In this course we will study thefundamentals of line drawing,perspective, color and texture.

GUITAR JAMHave you ever wondered if you could play the guitar? Learn theFUNdamentals and diverse styles of the guitar. You will bestrumming and making music in no time.

INCREDIBLE IMPROVISATIONThis class introduces improvisation and ensemble acting skillsthrough participatory activities and individual characterdevelopment. Build self-confidence and feel more comfortablebeing in front of groups while learning to think on your feet.

MOVIE MAKING & EDITINGThis class will appeal to students interested in acting in filmsand television,as well as those interested in writing screenplaysand directing movies and TV. Students will learn how to act forthe camera, as well as basic principles of scripting, shooting,directing, sound, lighting, and editing for a short film.

ROCK BANDMany kids today dream about being in a rock band orbecoming a star. This enrichment class teaches students howto play in a band with the necessary elements including stagepresence, musical equipment, and techniques. Members arematched up with other students based on their musicalabilities. During the 8-week session, musicians will learn 2 - 3songs. The class will culminate at the BGC Battle of the Bandswhere the musicians will compete.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL SCULPTINGThis beginning course will explore different 3-D medias includingclay, wire, wood and recyclables. Come let your creativity soar!

CHARACTER & LEADERSHIPDEVELOPMENT

JUNIOR STAFFMembers have an opportunity to gain valuable work experienceand demonstrate a sense of responsibility as a Junior Staffmember. In our Clubs, Junior Staff serve as role models toyounger members as they assist full-time professional staff in avariety of program areas and at the front desk.

TORCH CLUB �This small-group leadership development program is targeted tobuilding future leaders. Members elect officers and plan andimplement their own activities and community service projects.

MONEYMATTERSThis financial literacy program was designed specifically to helpyouth expand their knowledge of money management and learnthe skills that lead to financial independence and well-being.

POWER HOUR (Making Minutes Count) �A comprehensive homework help and tutoring program,designed to raise the academic proficiency of Club members.Power Hour is offered Monday through Thursday at all Clubs.

ROBOTICSScience, technology and math activities come together withthis exciting robotics program. Members use LEGOS Robotics asa terrific way to learn engineering and programming skills.Members work with staff to build and program their robots.

SCIENCE EXPLOSIONConduct simple scientific experiments with objects found inand around the house. Fun projects include lemon juice rockets,creating your own flashlight,producing invisible ink,and more!

SPORTS, FITNESS & RECREATIONBASKETBALLInstruction will focus on improving such as shooting,rebounding,passing, dribbling, conditioning and team work. Members willfinish with greater self-confidence and appreciation of the game.

COMPETITIVE DODGEBALL“Ready, Set, DODGEBALL!” Each week will be skills training ondodging, throwing and catching balls. Participate in dodgeballgames against other member-filled teams.

DYNAMIC DANCEYou will learn dance routines, feel comfortable exploring yourartistic side and enhance your grace and poise. Ourexperienced instructor creates a fun environment that helpsparticipants develop basic dancing skills.

ELITE FITNESS - COMMUNITY PARTNERTaught by professional community fitness experts, the goal is toinstill knowledge and experience through this fitness programwith the hope that kids will maintain healthy lifestyle habitsthoughout their lives.

GYMNASTICS/TUMBLINGLearn the basics of tumbling and progress to intermediateskills. Cartwheels, walkovers, front and back handsprings aresome of the skills taught during this class. Session ends with atumbling class at the California Cartwheel Center.

HIP HOPDANCEThis class is a fun, high energy experience that will teach youvarious Hip Hop styles and moves including a variety of dancecombinations. Our experienced instructors create a funenvironment that helps participants develop basic dancing skills.

HOCKEYHave a blast playing street hockey in street shoes! Players willget together once a week and participate in instructional drillsas well as scrimmages. All equipment will be provided.
