Current Events & News – Bharatiya Vidya Bhavana, Bengaluru Bhavan celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava ‘Jaya Bharata Jananiya tanujate, Jaya he Karnataka mate’ sang Rashtrakavi Kuvempu on the formation of State of Mysore, now known as Karnataka. In keeping with the spirit of Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated all over the State on 1 st November 2008, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan too celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with usual pomp and gaiety. The function started with the lighting of Kannadada Deepa by Chairman Sri N. Ramanuja, Director, Shri. Mathoor Krishnamurthyji and Hon’ Secretary, Sri Krishnamurthy, Treasurer, Sri Piyush Jain, Sri. Kashiraya, Sri. Suresh and other Bhavanites. Following the invocation by Smt. Prasanna Lakshmi, Sri H.N. Suresh, Director Programmes & Events, Dr. Nagesh Malavalli, Principal, MPBIM, Sri Ashok Kumar, Administrative Officer, BVB sang several songs of Huilagola Narayana Rao, Prof. Nissar Ahmed and others. Several Bhvanites accompanied them in their hitherto hidden pursuits. Following the rendering of songs, Chairman and MathoorJi gave their words of wisdom. Hon. Secretary of Bhavan, Sri. Krishnamurthy, with a presentation, updated the Bhavanites on various activities of Bhavan besides various projects being undertaken by Bhavan at different locations in Karnataka. Greeting the Bhavanites on Rajyotsava Celebrations, Shri. Piyush Jain, Hon. Treasurer wished them all the best. Bhavan celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava

‘Jaya Bharata Jananiya tanujate, Jaya he Karnataka mate’ sang Rashtrakavi Kuvempu on the formation of State of Mysore, now known as Karnataka. In keeping with the spirit of Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated all over the State on 1st November 2008, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan too celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with usual pomp and gaiety.

Shri. H N Suresh, Director Programme & Events spoke stressing on the use of kannada in our day to day work and on giving due importance to kannada which is the need of the hour. The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Sri Ashok Kumar . The event was followed by lunch for all the bhavanites in ES Venkataramaiah Art Gallery.
