H2O is the new middle school aged mentoring program that will be starting in the fall. This program will match middle school kids with an adult mentor and they will meet at First Church on Thursdays from 3:30-5pm week-ly. We are looking for adult mentors that can commit at least 1 year to their protégé.
Interested individuals will fill out an applica-tion and go through a screening process in-cluding a background check. Mentors will then be trained and matched.
We are now looking for interested adults to be mentors. We have informational meetings set for Tuesday, August 8
th at 7pm and Sun-
day, August 11th
at 12:00pm at First Church.
If you would like more information or are in-terested in being a mentor or helping with the program please sign up for a meeting on the bulletin board outside of Teresa’s office.
Seeking 5th Quarter Coordinator! Are you looking for a short term mission?
We may have just the job for you. We are looking for an individual who will
coordinate the logistics for our 5th Quarter events. This person will oversee
the volunteer staff who run the events, make sure all items are at the sites, order pizza, organize registration.
Most of the items listed already have systems in place, we would like
a person who will make sure all systems are up and running. There are four
5th Quarters this year: 9/13, 10/11, 10/25 & 11/1.
If you are interested, please contact Teresa or the office.

Mission Moment:
Faith in Action in the fall involves outreach to area teens via Friday night 5th Quarter events after
home VWHS football games. It supports area school students who need help with clothes, shoes
or hygiene items via The Isaiah 58 project. 5th Quarters are held after home games and offer a
safe, fun hangout space for middle schoolers at the YMCA and high schoolers at the Goedde
building. Lots of volunteers are needed for these events, so contact
Teresa if you can help. Isaiah 58 is a project that you can support
financially. Julie Burenga, our Missions Chairperson, works with local
guidance counselors who identify students in need to secure clothes,
shoes, coats, etc. This fund was started after Julie identified a need
when volunteering at the elementary school. Showing love to area
students is just one way First Church is putting Faith in Action!
