I am so happy you chose to take French this year! You are going to learn a lot and we’re going to have fun too!

Your success in this class is very important to me. I am very, very happy to help you before or after school. If I’m not in this room, you may find me in the World Languages Office in Room 110. I teach in room 114 all hours plus Seminar.

Don’t ask to use the toilettes if I am in the middle of explaining something or if you are doing a partner activity.

If you spend an inordinate amount of time in the toilettes your privileges may be revoked.

You are required to sign the clipboard each time you leave the room.

DEVOIRS

• HOMEWORK is a completion grade of 5 points per assignment. If you are absent you may turn in late work for full credit. If you miss an assignment and you were not absent, you may turn in the assignment late for 4/5 points.

EXAMENS

• Because it is imperative to understand one concept in a foreign language before moving on to another, it will be possible to re-take most tests for a maximum score of 85%. You will have to arrange do this on your own time: before or after school or during seminar. It may be necessary to show evidence of studying before being allowed to take the test.

Pardon, WHAT is a BRR???

• Glad you asked. • BRR stands for Bell Ringer Review.• Every day there will be a BRR on the board. The

purpose of the BRR is to remind you of something you have learned in the past and to focus you on what we are doing that day.

• You will do a week of BRRs on one sheet of paper that you will turn in on VENDREDI.

• For each one you must write the date en français.• You will receive participation points for your BRRs. • If you are absent you may copy another student’s BRR.
