Capt.Mike owns and operates the Chamonix II and has been sailing since he was 23 years old and is primarily a multi-hull enthusiast. He has owned several catamarans and trimarans and cruised the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas, Mediterranean, Red Sea and the San Juan Islands in the Pacific Northwest. Capt.Mike holds a 100 ton inland commercial mariners’s license and has logged over 30,000 coastal, ocean and inland water miles. He helps organize a flotilla of boats to the Bristish Virgin Islands each year. This is one of the most beautiful cruising places in the

world and one that novice sailors can enjoy with no worries. Capt.Mike started this charter business to offer a different

corporate venue for entertaining customers and employees in the Dallas-Ft.Worth metroplex. Dallas is a windy city with an average of 11 miles per hour of wind each day. There is rarely a day without wind in Dallas and even on those warm balmy nights in the summer you will get a thermal breeze for great night time sailing. “I love boats and sailing and want to take you on a mini adventure right here in Dallas. The Chamonix II was designed and built in the US Virgin Islands by Gold Coast Yachts which is the largest day charter catamaran builder in the world. With over 100 boats under their belt and having entertained thousands of Corporate clients, the Chamonix II design was the first of its kind to offer the ability to have an elegant evening dinner cruise with dancing and day time swimming events. With her bar area, buffet station, dance floor, restrooms and barbeque grill she is well suited for company picnics, corporate team building events or client appreciation sunset dinner cruises. The Crew of the Chamonix II To operate the Chamonix II requires a lot of logistics to book, coordinate and execute 200-300 charters per year. We have an excellent staff behind the scenes which includes our sales staff, contract administrators, and event coordinators in addition to the crew that will take you sailing safely and insure a wonderful experience with us. Before we get a chance to take you on the water, we pride ourselves in keeping our vessel in tip top shape. All mechanical systems are checked weekly, all rigging is checked annually by professional riggers and the vessel is maintained cosmetically by our dedicated crew members and cleaning crew. “When you step aboard the Chamonix II, it is our responsibility to keep you safe and make sure you have a fun and pleasant sailing experience with us. WHERE: Tortola and the British Virgin Islands are sailor’s paradise. The BVIs are considered one of the top charter destinations in the world for the best all-around cruising. The trade winds will carry you to whatever you’re looking for. With scores of safe and unspoiled anchorages, the British Virgin Islands lie nested about the Sir Francis Drake Channel in protected waters for fast fun sailing. All islands are within plain sight of one another making navigation a breeze. There are crystal clear waters, boulder-formed caves and picture perfect beaches with one of kind beachfront restaurants.There are numerous anchorages and wonders ashore at every stop.

COST: The trip will cost $2,000-$3,000 (per person, depending on season, air fare included, double occupancy, queen bed) for your own private berth complete with private shower and head. The British Virgin Islands (BVIs) is the ideal place to sail and enjoy paradise. Each catamaran (4) will be skippered by an experienced BVI veteran. The conditions and facilities are focused on the chartering industry so that your trip will be hassle free. There are only eight spots per boat – so sign up now to reserve your spot. No sailing experience is needed.

WHEN: See BigDCats.com for the next departure date. Sample Itinerary: Day 1, fly to the BVIs arriving in the late afternoon for an 1800 hours boat checkout and sleep aboard. Day 2, attend a chart briefing, boat checkout, and super market provisioning. We will set sail at 1100 hours for the Bite off Norman Island for six days of wonderful sailing. We will return to our charter base in Road Town, Tortola around 1100 hours on day 7 for an afternoon flight back home. BVI airport code is EIS and St. Thomas, USVI is SPB.

THE BOAT: The 46-foot catamaran comes with 4 queen size double berths, 4 private heads, and is complete with bed linens, pillows, towels. There is a large galley up for wide panoramic views that has an oval table that also converts to a double bed. She is 46’overall and 24’ wide stable floating machine. She draws 4’ 6” and holds 206 gallons of water. She has a sail area of 1,227 square feet of speed and power. She is capable of speeds up to 11 to 12 knots.
