Sean Costello was born in 1979 in Philadelphia and moved with hisfamily to Atlanta at age 9, about the same time he began playing the gui-t a r. Early on he could duplicate the rock sounds of Led Zeppelin and JimiHendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughan was a definite influence as well. Butwhen he picked up a Howlin’ Wolf record at a local bargain bin, itchanged his life. “I was about 12 then, and it was the hippest thing I’dever heard,” he says. “His guitar player, Hubert Sumlin, was a revela-tion.” he says. Soon after he developed a friendship with Atlanta bluesman Felix Reyes, who allowed the young prodigy to sit in regularlythroughout Atlanta with his popular act, Felix And The Cats.

At 14, Sean won the 1994 Blues Talent Contest sponsored by theMemphis Beale Street Blues Society, and he later competed in theInternational Blues Competition, an event which also featured anothernotable contestant, Susan Tedeschi. The two would soon join forces ona series of national tours with Sean as the lead guitar. Their partnershipwould culminate with Sean providing the sizzling fretwork on Te d e s c h i ’sbest selling “Just Won’t Burn.”

His stint with Tedeschi along with a steady series of professional gigsand recording dates beginning at age 14, gave Sean the experience andconfidence to leave Tedeschi to front his own band. It wasn’t long beforehe was on the road with his own band, and along the way sitting in withthe likes of Cotton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Pinetop Perkins, and BoD i d d l e y.

In 1996 he recorded his first album, Call the Cops for Blue SunRecords. Critical reaction was strong. Real Blues magazine called it “anexplosive debut,” and England’s Blues and Rhythm said it was “some ofthe finest, purest blues guitar anywhere.”

In 1997, Tedeschi and Sean met up again at the Springing The BluesFestival in Jacksonville and began gigging together out of Boston, thenAtlanta. As the success of her Tone Cool album and touring scheduleg r e w, Sean’s prowess garnered impressive notices across the country.Sean returned to Atlanta in late 1998 and assembled the band’s currentlineup of Melvin Zachary on bass, drummer Terence Pranther, PaulLinden on harp and piano and keyboardist Matt Wauchope. T h eband was soon in the studio to record Cuttin’ In. As Sean puts it,“ We really wanted to come up with something new within a roots-oriented setting, and I’m real pleased with the way it turned out.The band loves reworking the great New Orleans and Chicagos t u ff.” The result was a breakthrough album on which promptedBlues Access to wonder “If he’s this good now, what can heachieve with a few more years on those vocal chords?” and gar-nered a W.C. Handy Award nomination for “Best New A r t i s tD e b u t .”

2001 saw the band tearing up the festival circuit with jaw drop-ping shows and back in the studio to record Moanin’ For MolassesIf Cuttin’ In was the breakthrough then Molasses served notice thatSean is the real deal. Not content to rely on the “formula” and pro-duce another CD of Chicago and New Orleans covers he’sexpanding his sound to include hard soul with an absolutely amaz-ing cover of James Brown’s “I Want You So Bad,” a hard drivingrendition of Johnny Ta y l o r’s “You Can’t Win With a Losing Hand”and a nice batch of originals. On this CD Costello’s guitar isn’tabout flash, it has a refined, clean sound reminiscent of the mas-ters, vintage Buddy Guy included, the result is nothing short of bril-l i a n t .

If you have a chance to see Sean Costello live jump on it, dragall your friends to the show...they’ll thank you later! In meantimecheck out his CDs and discover what can happen when a youngguitar god rejects the flash and opts instead for passion, under-standing and respect for the music. We’re sure you’ll agree theblues has bright future with Sean Costello at the helm.

Winner of the 2004 Ozarks Blues Society best band contest this will be releasing anew CD anytime now. Their debut CD was featured on KMOD's "Smokehouse Blues"with Rockin' John Henry (Tulsa), has received acclaim from Chef Eddy’s Blues Revue(Ft. Smith) and Paul Rowlett's Blues Revue on KRSC (Tulsa), and has been wellreceived throughout the Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Texas live music communi-ties.

A blues/soul/rock band formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, they entice audiences with a widevariety of blues-based music, styles ranging from "Vintage Jump" to "Memphis Soul" tovarious funk and R & B styles -- with some flat-out Rock for good measure.Collectively, the group is versatile and capable of many different styles. Their materialdates from the 1940s to the present, featuring songs from artists such as BB King,Freddie King, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Etta James, Bonnie Raitt and Stevie RayVaughan, to name a few. They also feature original music.

But the real draw of this band is that it is a coming-together of five incredible talents. No member is lacking in musical skill, all are notable in their own rights, and together –nothing less than a very impressive show. Definitely not your average

Made From Scratch is a 4 piece rockin’ blues band based in Wichita, KS. They playand exciting mix of Blues, Rock, Swing, Jazz...well let’s just say they play A m e r i c a nMusic. With the talents of Steve Jordan on lead vocals and harmonica, KenKretzschmar on lead guitar, Willi Sebastian on that always spinning upright bass, andMike Hinecker pounding the skins, Made From Scratch keeps your fingers snappin’and your toes tappin’.

MFS was formed in early 1986 as a two piece county blues act. After growing to fivemembers, they played Wichita and the surrounding area for almost ten years. In themid 90s MFS broke up to pursue different projects. (Sticky Reeds, Gravy From the Hip,Mistaken Identity, Strange, The Buddy Holley Show, Swing Daddies, to name a few).

MFS was re-united at the 2002 CQ Bluesfest. "It felt just like old times, We had somuch fun we decided we better keep Made From Scratch alive!" Made From Scratchhas a great chemistry that comes from playing together for over a decade. These boysreally know how to throw it down. It’s hard to keep Steve from off the top of your tablewhen he’s playing a killer harp solo and you better watch out when Willi straps on theupright bass for a stroll around the room. With over one hundred songs in their reper-toire Made From Scratch is capable of providing hours of entertainment.

Take 3 talented guys who musically arealways on the same page, add the simplici-ty of a trio and you get Hatchet Jack. VocallyJohn Wood (drums & vocals) and PaulMurphy (guitar & vocals) are a powerhouse,

belting out blues that Stevie, Albert and Freddie would all approveof. You will almost always find John and Charley Taylor (bass) inthe pocket, laying down the foundation for some pretty hot fretwork by Paul. Paul’s influences, from The Beatles to Hendrixmixed with over 25 years of experience, have earned him almostlegend status among the locals in S.E. Kansas.

Introducing Patti Martin, a voice often compared to none otherthan Etta James and Susan Tedeschi. Patti has been a mainstayin the Tulsa music scene since she was first introduced to Tulsalegends such as Gus Hardin, Wanda Watson and Polly Ess.

You can’t help but stop and listen when she sings.. from thesmoothness in John Prine's "Angel from Montgomery" to theunleashed energy in Susan Tedeschi's "Mama he treats yourDaughter mean", to the soulfulness in Etta James’s “Damn YourEyes”. Its obvious her heart and soul are channeled through her-voice when she sings. As fate would have it Patti met the guys, jammed a little and an all blues project was created known as...ALMOST FAMOUS..

FUN FACTS:A true “blues traveler” , Alvin grew up moving all over the United States. as he puts

He now putshis military training to use fixing guitar amps in his wife’s Memphis guitar repair shop. Many of the amps he uses onstage were once patients.
