Mineral Fibre Ceiling ( Regular)

Supplying and fixing of false ceilings at all heights of 600mm x 600mm Mineral Fibre ceiling tiles of dune premiere or equivalent finish tile RH-95 with Tegular/ micro Edge laid on grid of colour White. The framework comprise of main runner spaced at 1200mm centers securely fixed to the structural soffit by approved hangers at 1200mm maximum centers. Hangers (GI wire of 4.0mm dia) to be fixed by approved roof plug, level adjusters and screws etc. The last hanger at the end of each main runner should not be greater than 450mm from the adjacent wall. Flush fitting 1200mm long cross tees (with double stitching) to be interlocked between main runners at 600mm centers to form 1200 x 600 x modules. Cut cross tees longer than 600mm to be supported independently.

2 Gypboard Ceiling

Providing and fixing suspended false ceiling, which includes providing and fixing GI perimeter channels of size 0.55mm thick having one flange of 20mm and another flange of 30mm and a web of 27mm along with perimeter of ceiling, screw fixed to brick wall/partition with the help of nylon sleeves and screws, at 610mm centers. The suspending gI intermediate channels of size 45mm 0.9mm thick with two flanges of 15mm each from the soffit at 1220mm centers with ceiling angle of width 25mm x10mm x 0.55mm thick fixed to soffit with GI cleat and steel expan-sion fasteners. 7.0 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

7.1 WOOD WORK :- These specifications shall be read in conjunction with the Drawing and other

contract Documents and other section of this specification which shall be deemed

complimentary with one another. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all plant,

tools, materials, Labour and all things necessary for the proper execution, completion and

maintenance of the works.

a) Timber :- The moisture content of the timber during manufacture, delivery to site, storage,

storage, site working, assembly installation shall not be more than 10 to 12 percent. Timber shall

be teak wood, soft or hardwood and shall be suitable for the purpose for which it is intended. It

shall be seasoned or Kiln dried, absolutely free from worm holes, large loose or dead Knots or

other defects which would effect strength or usability and shall be flat, straight non-splitting and

dressed on all sides. It shall be matched for colours and graining.

Oak Wood wherever specified in the drawings / schedule of quantities , it is Ist quality of White

oak wood of reasonably straight grains, free of Knots and sap and light vein. wood shall be

stained in required finish.

Hard wood wherever specified in the drawings / schedule of quantities, it is MIRANDI WOOD,

wherever Soft wood is mentioned it shall be KAIL WOOD.

Fixing :-The carpentry timber shall be fixed with nails, spikes, bolts screws, hangers, stirrups,

anchors, ties or any other accessories which are suitable to develop the full strength of the

member which they support to which they are attached, as directed.

All above hardwares for fixing in exterior location shall be as described in specifications.

Carpentry timber where fixed to solid masonry or concrete shall be secured with expansion bolts

or other positive methods of mechanical fastening. MS hold fast grouted in CC block shall be

used to hold the door frames/rough ground.

b) Timber Veneers :- Timber veneer shall be of the timber species shown on drawings. Veneers are

to be kept in sequence as they are being cut from wood and supplied as such to the site for

accurate matching of figuring . The veneer shall be finished as specified and shall be equal or

superior quality to that laid down in IS: 1659 - 1960 or as approved.

c) Plywood’s: All ply wood shall be best /high quality close grained suitable for veneering, painting

or bonding plastic laminate. It shall be resin bonded and BWP grade. Exposed edges shall be

finished with an edge strip of solid teak wood. tongued and grooved and glued , or as detailed.

The plywood of approved brand and manufacture only shall be used in the work. The thickness

shall be in accordance with the drawings /schedule of quantities.

d) Adhesives :- The adhesives used for all wood work shall be FEVICOL OF appropriate Grade.

Manufacturer’s recommendations shall be followed for adhesive other than above required for

any specified / specialized work.

e) Joinery :-Joinery shall be carried out strictly in accordance with the drawings, Where joints are

not specifically indicated recognized forms of joints shall be used. Joinery shall conform to IS

Standards.

Panels shall be rendered flame retardant and to conform to local fire regulations where

specified.

The Contractor shall submit samples of all materials including large samples of veneer for

approval.

All materials pre-fabricated, delivered and assembled shall be in accordance with the approved

sample.

The Contractor shall be responsible for protecting all items of wood-work done by him. the

contractor shall replace at his own expense any damaged work caused through lack of adequate

protection or care in installation or handling .

7.2 MIRROR AND GLASS :-The Contractor shall submit samples of all glasses and mirror types for

approval of Interior Designer /Project Manager. These shall be obtained from the approved

sources only

a) Mirrors :-Mirrors shall be fabricated from best clear plate or float glass of approved quality

(Modi -guard or approved equivalent with clear / bronze finish as show in the drawings

/schedule of quantities and shall match the International Standards.

All fixed panel mirrors shall be 6 mm thick unless otherwise stated having +/- 0.30 mm tolerance

. The edges of mirrors shall be polished and beveled and mitered as per IS. specifications

wherever, it’s indicated in the drawing.

The Etching wherever specified in drawings, shall be done at approved sources as per full-scale

drawing approved by Interior Designer / Project Manager. The etched panel shall be chemically

washed /treated as per specialist specifications to have a permanent dust free surface.

b) Glasses :-All glasses shall be MODI GUARD FLOAT GLASS of specified thickness. The edges shall

be beveled as indicated in drawings and shall be done at approved source.

The Contractor shall be responsible for protecting all mirrors and glasses fixed by him and shall

replaced at his own expense any broken or damaged mirror / glass caused through lack of

adequate protection or care in installation or handling.

Tinted glass - Indian tinted glass in approved colour.

7.3 FURNITURE AND FURNISHINGS :-A Sample of every item of furniture, including its parts shall

be submitted in two sets for approval of Interior Designer / Project Manager before an order is

placed or manufacture commences. Approved samples shall be used as standards of finish and

workmanship.

Figured dimension shall be taken in preference to scaled dimensions in all cases. Before

commencing any work the contractor shall verify all measurements on the site.

All joints shall be standard mortise and tennon dowel, dovetail cross halved, mitered tongue and

grooved or rebated. Nailed butt joints will not be permitted. Where mortise and tennon joints are

used tennons shall fit the mortise exactly. Lap joints with glue shall be permitted in wood skirting.

Where metal legs, frames and the like are used, these shall be welded, brazed bolted or riveted as

required, and on finished surface welding, brazing, and riveting shall be grounded so that no

evidence of this is apparent on the final finish of the metal.

All legs of case or Cabinet furniture, whether of wood or metal shall be equipped with nylon

glides or castors unless otherwise shown on the drawings.

The finishes of furniture shall be fully in accordance with the drawings and schedule of quantities.

Where the upholstery fabric is patterned no upholstery fabrication is to commence until the

contractor has received clear instructions concerning the direction of the pattern and the method

of its joining. Upholstery will be of first class workmanship with webbing, no-sag springs, coiled

springs, padding filling as specified. Covering fabrics will be sewn ,tufted, and corded as shown on

the drawings or schedule of quantity.

Cushion vents shall be made in the back or underside of all seat cushions in sufficient number to

allow air to escape easily and prevent torn seams.

The Contractor shall protect and guard all fixed items and loose items of furniture, fixtures,

fittings and all other furnishing from fire, damp, theft or any other damage until the date of hand

over the completed works.

7.4 LATEX FOAM RUBBER :-Latex foam rubber used in the work shall be ISI marked and shall

conform to IS 1741-1960. The Grade of the foam should be used as mentioned below :

a) Grade B C or D shall be used in the back cushion and arms.

b) Grade D, E or F shall be used in the seat cushion of the furniture’s.

The Actual length and width of a latex foam rubber product should be greater than the nominal

dimension by a small amount in order to admit of the foam rubber being slightly compressed by

a cover made to the nominal dimensions.

7.4 FALSE CEILING :-The Plaster of paris used in the work shall be of the calcium sulfate semi-

hydrate variety. It shall be of finest quality and shall not too quick setting. The initial setting time

shall not be less than 13 minutes.

False ceiling work shall be executed in accordance with relevant IS specification . G I framing

shall be erected as described in schedule of quantities and fixed with GI metal mesh of approved

quality weighing .75 Kg/ Sqm. M.S. hangers shall be fixed on the frame of false ceiling and

approved GI dash fasteners fixed to RCC beam / slab as directed by Project Manager . Main

members of the Framing shall be placed at 750 mm centre to centres and cross members at 375

mm centres shall be fixed to main members. All frame work and metal mesh shall be fixed with

self tapping screws.

The POP thickness shall not be less than 10 mm and shall be finished to true line and level.

Proper template / mould shall be made to make and finish cornice / moulding profile as per

drawings. A sample of each cornice / moulding profile shall be got approved from Interior

Designer/ Project Manager. All POP surface shall be painted and finished with acrylic emulsion

paint and MS hangers with approved steel primer and synthetic enamel paint.

7.6 PAINTING :

a) Textured Finish The wall / wooden surface wherever specified in the drawings / schedule of

quantities shall be finished with approved textured finish. The specifications shall be as per

manufacturer’s recommendations for the approved products. The sample of shade and textured

finish shall be as approved by Interior Designer.

b) Painting All paints / polishing material (Acrylic emulsion paint, Duco paint, Melamine polish)

shall be of approved make and manufacturers and shade / finish. the surface to be treated shall

be thoroughly cleaned and dusted before painting / polishing. The surface shall be prepared and

got approved by Project Manager before application of primer. The paint / polish shall be

applied with brush /roller / spray as required and directed by Project Manager. The surface of

finishing shall present a flat velvety smooth finish. If necessary more coats shall be applied till

the surface presents uniform appearance. After painting work, doors, window in the area shall

be kept open to provide good ventilation and to ensure proper drying.

7.7 FLOORING All flooring shall be laid to the best practice Known to the trade. The flooring shall

be laid to the level except where slopes, offsets / depressions are called for on the drawings.

Particulars care shall be excersied to ensure that all flooring , skirting and dado are perfectly

matched for colour and finish. The contractor shall furnish for approval by the Interior Designer

Samples of each type of floor finish.

a) Granite/Tile/ Flooring and Skirting : Stone/Tile shall be the best as per the specification

(Diamond-polish ) approved by the Interior Designer and a sample piece should be kept in the

office of the Project Manager. The quality shall be uniform and it shall be hard and free from any

dis

coloration’s, cracks ,veins of foreign material or any other defects. The slabs shall be machine

cut true to the shape and size and are pre-polished. The Marble shall be bedded in cement

mortar backing covering the full area of the marble. Joints between slabs shall be hair fine and

filled with coloured cement to match the slab . The Stone Floor / skirting shall be finally buffed

with polishing felt and cleaned with diluted oxalic acid wash.

The stone slabs shall be machine cut true to the shape and size and machine polished. care shall

be taken to cut the slabs so as to provide a pattern as indicated.

Stone slabs for wall lining and dados shall be machine polished edges. The wall shall be lined

with the marble in courses as indicated and arranged in pattern as per detailed drawings. The

marble shall be bedded in cement mortar backing covering the full area. The wall surface shall

be cleaned from all dirt, mortar droppings etc. before fixing stone.

The following is the list of approved makes of materials mentioned below.

The contractor shall produce samples, before procurement of the materials, for approval of the Interior Designer/Project Managers. Sample of best quality natural stone shall be submitted to the Project Managers within 3 days of submitting the quote.

Where more than one manufacturer is listed, the names are given in the order of preference. The contractor shall quote the rates for the various items of work based on the materials of first preference after ascertaining the availability, delivery schedule of the same. Unless the contractor stipulates in his tender, it shall be presumed that the rates quoted are for material of first preference only.

In the event, the contractor is permitted to use the material of lower preference because of valid reasons, than the contract rates for the relevant items of work shall be suitably adjusted on the basis of variation in prices of the materials of first preference and those actually used. If the prices of the materials used are higher than the material of first preference, the owner shall not be liable to make any enhanced payment for the affected items of work on this account.

In respect of materials for which approved makes are not specified below, these will be of makes to be decided by Interior Designer / Project Managers and as per samples getting approved.
