He received his degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981, and went on to complete his internship at Hillcrest General Hospital and Mini-residency in Infectious disease at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Binyamin Rothstein is an Osteopathic physician from Baltimore, Maryland, where he ran a successful family practice for many years. He trained at the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his internship at Hillcrest General Hospital in New York. His started his first private practice in Brooklyn in 1982 but gave it up when he entered the United States Army. He served for three years as an Army physician at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Maryland and was discharged in June of 1986.
