William Lin-Yee William Lin-Yee is from Oakland, California. He trained at Contra Costa Ballet Centre, San Francisco Ballet School, and the School of American Ballet. In 2004, Mr. Lin-Yee was offered an apprenticeship with New York City Ballet and joined the company as a member of the corps de ballet the next year. In 2008, he joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet, in 2014 was promoted to soloist, and in 2016 was promoted to principal. Mr. Lin-Yee has danced works from a diverse group of choreographers such as; George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Christopher Wheeldon, Alexei Ratmansky, David Dawson, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Ulysses Dove, Crystal Pite, Tywla Tharp, and Jean-Christophe Maillot. He was the recipient of the Mae L. Wein award in 2004.In addition to his dance repertoire, Mr. Lin-Yee composed the score to Kiyon Gaines' A Piece in P-I-E-C-E-S for Pacific Northwest Ballet's Next Step in 2011. In 2019 he composed the score to Price Suddarth's White Noise for Kansas City Ballet's New Works program. Page 1
