 !o#ert 1llis Dudgeon inventedthe +phygmograph4  In 1881 , Dudgeon introduced a new, highly portable

Sphygmograph. The sphygmograph was strapped to thewrist. The pulse at the wrist caused a metal strip to move astylus, transmitting a record of the pulse onto smoed paper. 

!obert "llis Dudgeon#s instrument $uicly became popularsince it was compact and easy to use. The sphygmographtraces an undulating line, which represents a record of bloodpressure and pulse over time. 

It was the most famous discovery. It was mildly opposed inthe beginings by allopaths but later on described andphotographed in most of the boos on physiology andpathology.

DEMISE /

 In the morning session of The 6ritish (omoeopathic /ongress on >uly,1, Dudgeon told his friends that he was troubled with a sinirritation which interferred with sleep and gave him a feeling ofgeneral illness. (e never left his house after this date. This trouble

developed into a abnormal form of pemphigus which undermined hisvital power and inspite of his mental faculties remaining unimpaired, hesan from weaness.

  +t the age of 80 years on 8th september,1&4%, he passed away

peacefully without pain, without any complain and without anydisturbance.
