The Society for Women in Science and Technology (SWST) was founded in the year 2017 with a

mission “to be the best National/International Platform to empower women throughout the

science and technical enterprise”. SWST serves to attract, retain, develop, promote and advocate

Women folks for positive impact on diversity, equity and inclusion in scientific society and the

profession. SWST at ISIDDD 2019 aims to enhance the leadership and career development

opportunities for women and to highlight contributions of women.

International Symposium

&

9th Bioinformatics Workshop on

Informatics, Drug Discovery and Development

The Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility (BIF) at Jamia Hamdard (JH) is a central facility established in 2008 by the DBT, Ministry of Science & Technology under the BTBI program. BIF JH motivates and supports bioinformatics teaching and research, and over a period of time is emerging as one of the potential centers of learning and research in bioinformatics, especially in the area of drug discovery and development.

The center is equipped with dedicated servers and Workstations with 24 h internet connectivity, 10 KVA UPS and currently has some of the state-of-the-art licensed software such as Recore, Sybyl, GOLD and SCHRODINGER for modeling, drug design and simulation. It also works in collaboration with other centers in various ways. Center acknowledges the continued support of DBT.

Drug discovery and development is inherently a multidisciplinary area which deals with the acquisition, transmission, processing, management and use of information to improve health and quality of life and respond to public health emergencies by way of drug intervention. It is an essential feature of predictive, preventive, precise, pervasive, participatory, preemptive, personalized and patent-centralized (P8) medicine. IS-IDDD 2019 is small step forward towards building a tradition encompassing chemical, biological, physical and engineering principles through clinical application. Top academic investigators and leaders from pharma, bioinformatics and biotech industry as well as basic science research have shown their intent to gather to discuss the latest advances, as well as critical hurdles requiring coordinated multidisciplinary solutions, in the field of drug discovery and development. The International Symposium aims at providing a dynamic, diverse and collegial environment encompassing academic, industrial and clinical viewpoints. Young investigators and junior scientists will specially get a unique opportunity to present their work and to exchange ideas with leaders in the field.
