Q-Sense E4

Q-Sense E4 measures is designed for rapid and accurate analysis of molecular interactions at surfaces. Four sensors enable four parallel measurements. We offer specially designed sensor modules for applications with particular requirements, as well as combining QCM-D measurements simultaneously with other techniques.

Q-Sense E1

Q-Sense E1 is a flexible single-sensor QCM-D system. Q-Sense E1 is compatible with all Q-Sense modules for combinational measurements such as QCM-D and electrochemistry, ellipsometry and microscopy or for other special set-ups such as experiments in gas or with the possibility to pipette the sample onto the sensor sur-face.

Q-Sense E4 Auto

Q-Sense E4 Auto is an automated QCM-D system for real-time characterization of interfaces and molecular interactions. Automated liquid handling runs all four sensors, enabling four parallel measurements. The possibilities to program detailed experiments that run automatically, in combination with the standard offering of high quality products and features gives you an instrument that is easy to use, time-sav-ing and offering accurate data about your system.

KSV NIMA provides scientific instruments for thin film fabrication and characterization. Our technical solutions enable control over film deposition, thickness, composition, rheology, packing density and orientation and more. Our instruments include Langmuir-Blodgett Troughs, Interfacial Shear Rheometer, PM-IRRAS, Brewster Angle Microscopes and Dip Coaters.

Biolin Scientific offers analytical research instruments of three different product brands; Q-Sense, Attension and KSV NIMA. Q-Sense products are based on Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation monitoring (QCM-D) technology which measures mass up-take and viscoelastic properties of molecular layers and interactions at surfaces. Q-Sense instruments conduct label-free and real-time surface and interaction analysis with high sensitivity.

Q-Sense Sensors

We offer a broad range of Q-Sense Sensor coatings for different applications. Our standard selection includes basic elements, steels & alloys, polymers, oxides, nitrides, sulfides, glasses & ceramics, functionalized surfaces and much more. As part of our business we also customize sensors for specific needs in our in-house facilities.

Q-Sense Modules

As complement to the standard Flow module, we offer several optional modules, specially designed to enable certain application areas: a PTFE Flow module, a Humidity module, an Open module, a Window module, an Electrochemistry module, and an Ellipsometry module. A High Temperature Chamber is available for both high and low temperature measurements and Q-Sense also offers a Vacuum Holder to enable QCM-D measurements in vacuum.

Attension Optical Tensiometers

Attension Optical Tensiometers, also called contact angle meters or goniometers, are used to determinate contact angle, dynamic contact angle, surface tension, interfa-cial tension, surface free energy and interfacial rheology. They capture drop images and analyze the drop shape as a function of time. Attension provides fully automatic advanced systems as well as more compact entry level instruments. A portable con-tact angle meter is also available.

Attension Force Tensiometers

Attension Force Tensiometers are used to determine surface tension, interfacial ten-sion, critical micelle concentration, dynamic contact angle, surface free energy, pow-der wettability, sedimentation and density. Attension Force Tensiometers range from manual standalone instruments to automated software controlled systems capable of complex measurements. A dedicated Force Tensiometer for measuring the interfacial tension of transformer oils (according to astm d971 and iec 60422) is also available.

Attension Bubble Tensiometers

The Attension Bubble Tensiometer, BPA-800P, is a standalone instrument able to deliver highly accurate and reproducible dynamic surface tension measurements in under 6 minutes. Dynamic surface tension measurements provide information on the wetting properties of the liquid. This data is useful for controlling and developing the surface active agents for a number of processes such as printing, spraying, cleaning and coating.

KSV NIMA Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett Deposition Troughs

Instruments to fabricate and study organized monolayers at the liquid-gas or liquid-liquid interfaces, then to deposit them onto solid surfaces. A wide range of options allows for various monolayer packing densities, surface areas and depositon tech-niques. KSV NIMA is the leader in computer controlled Langmuir and Langmuir-Blod-gett Troughs for more than 30 years.

KSV NIMA Dip Coaters

KSV NIMA provides a range of robust Dip Coaters designed for vibration free immer-sion and withdrawal of samples, and easy programming of dipping sequences. The Dip Coaters can be used for uniform films, sol-gel coatings, layer-by-layer assem-blies and self-assembled monolayers. Small and large systems are available, for single or multi-vessel operations.

KSV NIMA SPOT

KSV NIMA Surface Potential Sensor is a computer controlled, standalone surface potential sensor offering high accuracy, minimal drift and high reproducibility for Langmuir film characterization.

KSV NIMA BAM

KSV NIMA Brewster Angle Microscopes (BAM) enable non-invasive imaging of monolayers at the air-water interface. It allows visualization of surface reactions as well as film morphological properties. The KSV NIMA BAM represents the latest in BAM instrumentation allowing high resolution and fully focused real-time imaging. The KSV NIMA MicroBAM is a compact and cost-effective solution offering excellent image quality and good lateral resolution.

KSV NIMA Interfacial Shear Rheometer

KSV NIMA ISR is a unique instrument providing highly sensitive viscoelastic meas-urements of fluid interfaces while measuring surface pressure. The instrument is ide-al to study the interfacial rheology of Langmuir films, protein adsorptions and surface reactions in general. Measurements can be made either in a KSV NIMA Langmuir Trough or in a Low Volume Cell when no compression is required. Unprecedented sensitivity is achieved by moving the instrument probe with a magnetic field.

KSV NIMA PM-IRRAS

KSV NIMA PM-IRRAS is a user friendly FTIR reflection spectrometer with polariza-tion modulation for rapid and highly sensitive surface specific characterization of floating and deposited thin films. PM-IRRAS is used to study film composition and molecular orientation to name a few. It is positioned on a goniometer for simplified setup, easy adjustments and simple integration of a Langmuir Trough or horizontal sample holder for solid surfaces.
