The Biondi family would like to share with you an email from the Director of Human Resources, Doubletree Hotel, Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE: “We are proud to announce the introduction of the annual Kristen Biondi Legacy Award. A group of us were recently reminiscing about Kristen. One of our managers, Linda, recalled our manager’s outing in 2006 in NYC. One of the speakers at our meeting was talking to us about our legacy. He posed the question, “what will your legacy be?” Linda remembered Kristen stating that she wanted her legacy to be that of a great manager, someone that was approachable, someone that was known for making other people feel comfortable coming to her. Kristen’s legacy was also that she was warm and generous and had a great sense of humor. She was able to laugh and look at the lighter side of a tough day. In Kristen’s honor, we are introducing the Kristen Biondi Legacy award. Each year, during our annual team member celebration, we will honor a team member that embodies the spirit of Kristen. This person will be someone who is warm, caring, and generous. Someone that is able to laugh in the face of adversity and be strong well beyond their years. The recipient of this award will need to show the legacy traits that Kristen embodied by being approachable and open. By being someone that anyone can talk to about anything. We think this is a great way to keep Kristen’s spirit alive at our hotel for many years to come.” Webster defines the word Approach: “to draw nearer”. Approachable: “that can be approached; accessible, friendly, receptive”. As people move forward in their daily living, we ask that you stop from time to time to “REMEMBER” Kristen, her friendliness, loyalty, honesty, integrity, kindness, sense of humor and her capacity to draw nearer. Kristen lived her legacy, her spirit should inspire us to do the same.
