Photolithography Process
Design a CAD image of the shapes we want to make.
Our Mask
Our Mask with labels

Someone from Kit’s lab makes the mask into a positive master mold in the cleanroom.
Photolithography Process
Make a negative PDMS from the master. Make positive agar stamps from the PDMS negative. Pour cell culture onto stamp and let sit for 24 hours. (Optional) Stamp down a perimeter of cells around
the stamping area and grow for 24 hours. Stamp the cells onto the agar plate.
Progress
Design has been approved by Dr. Lu. High gel strength agar will arrive later today.
Find someone from Kit’s lab to make the master.
Get an XY motor for visualization. Get an XYZ motor for possible use in precise
stamping for the 50m stamp (150m depth).
Future Designs
Different feature sizes. Once line signaling works, move to shapes. Possibility of controlling cell density by
making lines out of small checkerboards.
Updated Schedule
Week 1 (6/6): Project Choice and Design Week 2 (6/13): Got parts and set up tests Week 3 (6/20): Began building test constructs, finished sender Week 4 (6/27): Parts building continues; Experiments with aTc sender;
completed CAD design. Week 5 (7/4): More parts building; Pour stamps and test stamping Week 6 (7/11): Test cell signaling density Week 7 (7/18): Construct IFFL Week 8 (7/25): Test it Week 9 (8/1): “ Week 10 (8/8): “ Week 11 (8/15): “ Week 12 (8/22): “
