A manic episode is when a person is

extremely happy, and a depressive

episode is when a person feels like

they are in the depths of despair.

These mood episodes influence

behavioral changes.

A mood episode can include

symptoms of mania and depression

together – called a mixed state.*

These drugs can also trigger manic episodes that makes more drugs and alcohol needed.

These drugs offer only temporary relief.

Someone with bipolar disorder uses drugs like cocaine, opiates, prescription medication, or alcohol.
