FOllOwing a 5-StaR Sell Out Run in london, new Room theatre’scritically acclaimed BlAckout is touring Scotland.
“my first drink seemed to unlock something. i threw up, went home, woke upwith a stinking hangover the next morning and thought, ‘that was fantastic, when are we doing it again’?” Scripted entirely from interviews with recovering addicts, including the writerhimself, blackout is the honest, brutal, uplifting and darkly comic story ofalcoholics, and of their recovery:meet the woman who finds herself urinating off the top of the Scott monumentin edinburgh, the man who nearly burns down a stranger’s kitchen, themother who almost beats her son to death in a drunken rage...blackout is the honest, brutal, uplifting and darkly comic story ofalcoholics and of their recovery.
the SatiRical OPeRetta, lA ViE PArisiEnnE,was Offenbach's first full-length piece to portray
contemporary Parisian life and went on to becomeone of his most popular works. a rich cast of singers, including Marie Devellereau and Laurent Naouri, glorious sets by chantal thomas – a bustling trainstation, ballrooms and nightclubs, come togetherbrilliantly under Sebastien Rouland’s baton.

REMAINS IN THE LANDSCAPE: PAULINE MCGEE & CLARE YARRINGTON
thiS exhibitiOn bY PAulinE McGEE and clArE yArrinGton explores the cycle of creation and destructionevident in the landscape. Pauline and clare are fascinated by the striking visual remains of man-made structures
that are slowly being reclaimed by the natural world, and by the formations of nature that are continually being shapedby the elements.
the exhibition ranges from drawings of the nairn viaduct to classical sites in crete and from mixed media piecesinspired by the dry stone walls of glen isla to prehistoric standing stones.
“the dynamic, ever-changing remains in the landscape captures both our imaginations. while we both like toexperience the landscape first hand through walking and climbing, our distinctive backgrounds and artistic practicesmean that we interpret these experiences in different ways”
Saturday 2nd July to Sunday 31st July
opening Sunday 3rd July • 2pm-4pm
HERE AND THERE: CAMERON MURRAY
thiS exhibitiOn ReFlectS cAMEron MurrAy’s consuminginterest in landscapes, seasons and nature. the play of light, whether
on water, foliage or natural structures, is the basis of the painter’s choiceof subject. much time is spent revisiting and attempting to capture the spirit ofplaces visited. acrylic and watercolour, cameron’s preferred mediums, allow the artist to work quickly to interpret the ever-changing effect oflight – either on site, or from field notes in the studio. cameron murraystudied at the edinburgh college of art and, since 1973, has had worksin private, corporate and public collections in the uk and elsewhere.
