Lego Subtraction: Materials: Legos and DiceThis game can be played by yourself or with a partner. Each player makes a stack of 10-15 legos (Decide on a number for all players to have). When it's your turn, roll the dice and subtract the legosfrom your tower. Sate the problems out loud "I had 10 legos and I took away 2 legos. Now I have 8 legos." Keep taking turns until a player's tower gets to 0.

• Pick a poem/nursery rhyme to learn together
• Tell your child it is a new week and that you need help writing a to do list for chores around the house. Have your child write and draw a list of at least three items that need to be done at your house this week.
• Read 1 fiction story to your child (focus on modeling active reading strategies such as predicting, focusing on key vocabulary, connecting to your experiences) and ask questions after the story on the events and thoughts/feelings of the characters.
• Read 1 non-fiction book to your child (focus on vocabulary, connection to your experiences).
• Write a note to your teacher or a classmate telling them you miss them during this break from school.
- Review of Beginning Sound: Pick a sound such as /b/. Have your child draw three pictures of items that start with the sound /b/ (bat, bear, bike). Then have your child write the word for each picture. Help them with the sounds. Repeat with more letters.
• Have each family member vote on what flavor of ice cream is their favorite. Graph the results with your child. Which flavor was the most popular? Which flavor was the least popular?
• Estimate: Pour a handful of something small (blueberries, marshmallows, etc.) into a container. Have your child guess how many of the item are in the container. Dump the contents out and count the actual quantity. How close was your guess?
• Go on a walk and use directional language to describe where things are in the environment (the bird is sitting on top of the tree branch). Find and describe objects that are close or far away.
• Take a walk and count how many homes you pass or find at least 3 things in nature (leaf, rock, stick). Have your child order them by height (shortest to tallest). Have your child order them by weight (lightest to heaviest).
• Sidewalk Chalk: Go outside and practice writing numbers 0-20 with sidewalk chalk. If you do not have sidewalk chalk use paper and pencil.
• Play school with your child. Allow your child to be the teacher. Push in Tier 2 vocabulary words
• Play restaurant with your child. Allow them to be the server and take orders, write the order, prepare the order, serve the order, and clean it up once done. Your child can play restaurant with pretend food or imaginary. Push in Tier 2 vocabulary words
• Have your child choose a community helper they want to be (firefighter, policeman, etc). Have your child set up an area for their community helper to work and play with them. Push in Tier 2 Vocabulary Words
• Teach your child a line dance. This helps with movement and following directions. You can try as Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, The Electric Slide, Cha Cha Slide, etc.
• Play a game with your child such as Hide and Seek, Hopscotch, or Red Light Green Light. Practice following directions and playing with each other. Help your child practice taking turns.
