Experience September 2015 to December 2015 Family Services Association (FSA) Steubenville, Ohio Intern I worked primarily alongside the graduate student interns during my internship at Family Services Association (FSA). I sat in on the graduate student interns' sessions with clients and observed the interactions between them. As the clients became more familiar with me, and I with them, I participated more actively by offering input during the sessions. Additionally, I was assigned five guardian clients of FSA to visit in nursing homes and conduct brief mental health checks. My experiences during my internship allowed me to grow in my communication skills and empathy. I gained experience in using Delphi software to enter patient’s appointments, and make note of payments. Along with this, I pulled charts for the therapists each day and helped to reorganize the shelves. Another of my duties was filling out intake forms and putting together new charts for new clients. Contact: Julie Duprey October 2007 to June 2013 VIABIL (Visually Impaired And Blind In Livingston) Brighton, MI Student Volunteer and Facilitator I gained skills in hospitality, record keeping, and food service from my nearly six years of regular volunteering at VIABIL.VIABIL is a support group connecting the people of Livingston County who have different forms and degrees of visual impairment or blindness to services and speakers who discuss ways to live as independently as possible.
