    A SNAP SHOT OF STAKEHOLDERS

VIEWS "NEN will bring different players on to a common platform to share experiences and

cooperate in propagating and promoting the culture of entrepreneurship. This effort

should go a long way in contributing to the growth of national economy."(Prof. S. Venkateswaran, Professor Emeritus-cum-Advisor and former Vice Chancellor,BITS )

The aptitude for entrepreneurship amongst young people has to be cultivated from thebeginning in the university environment. Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) atBITS has been established to institutionalize the promotion of entrepreneurship byputting into effect activities linking various stakeholders viz. Students, Faculty, Alumni,Industry, Government and the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). The Center

aims to create an entrepreneurial mindset to accelerate the process of wealth generationand jobs creation for the benefit of the community and the nation.

(Prof. L.K. Maheshwari, Vice Chancellor, BITS)

Iconsider myself a convert. When I joined BITS I only knew a few entrepreneurs likeSabeer Bhatia and Bill Gates. There was a time when I would be satisfied with a salariedjob and a hassle free life. However, now that I have been a part of CEL and my internshipat the start-up, there is definitely an urge to start something on my own.

(Jimit Arora, BITS Pilani, alumnus, 2004)

We should do everything necessary to increase the ranks of young people who are risktakers, high energy, and hungry for success; they will help create new jobs and newmarkets for India. NEN can be exploited to the fullest to build the right kind of resourcesfor this purpose.

(Vinod Agarwal, BITS alumnus & CEL Advisor, Chairman & Chief Strategist, LogicVision)

    NEN Partnership

NEN came in at a point when our Institute wasconcerned about developing an entrepreneurshipprogram that would prepare our students for the future.

Access international academic resourcesand benefitfrom the NEN STVP EEC program.

The NEN teamis informal, harmonious and inspiringto work with.

The TiE networking events conducted by NEN was aplatform that helped us build a good networkwith

entrepreneurs in India and across the globe.Networking with other institutes and faculty members is

    very useful.

For CEL , the NEN partnership has become a gateway fordevelopment and sharing of high quality resources , an access toworld class educational products and programmes across thenetwork. CEL efforts have started yielding a positive attitudinalchange amongst BITSians towards entrepreneurship.

Attributed to increasing awareness amongst students regardingimportance and benefits of becoming an entrepreneur as also theeducational environment to which students at BITS get exposed.

Process of greater exposure and opportunities to students tolearn, understand and practise about entrepreneurship would goa long way in improving the conversion factor of their becomingentrepreneurs under different CEL Activities.
