I am so grateful for such positive results. A personal note. Jo and I want to say thanks. Thanks for loving us, thanks for accepting us as we are and thanks for being so good to us. It was a joy for us to have over 100 people come to our home for fellowship. Once again we were overwhelmed with Christmas cards (so many kind hand written words of encouragement) – THANKS. We received numerous gifts of love and encouragement from our church family – we are richly blessed and so grateful – THANK YOU. Your continued demonstration of love and encouragement amazes us. THANKS ! We feel so blessed to be able to share our lives with you. A new year … new opportunities … new adventures … new blessings. I am so eager to see how God moves in 2014. We will look at chapter 13 of The Story – The King Who Had It All. Looking forward to this peek into the life and story of Solomon. Invite someone to worship with you. Lord willing, I hope to see you and your guests on the Lord’s Day. I love you with the love of the Lord. Dwight

Proclaiming the Gospel to the Lost and Developing

Christ-Centered Lives

Bits & Pieces … Odds & Ends … This & That …

I have several things I want to “talk about” today. So here we go.

2014 … Here we are at the beginning of a new year. For some of us, 2013 was a good, even memorable year. For others it was a real struggle. For me personally, I’m not sure when I’ve looked forward to the beginning of a new slate as much as I have over the last month or so. God continues to amaze me with His love, grace and faithfulness.

Of the goals I’ve set for myself for this year, there is one I’d like you to consider as well. What I hope will be the theme of my life in 2014 is – “Don't give people what they deserve; give them what Jesus gives me – inexplicable grace.”

Wednesday night classes resume this Wednesday. Paul will continue the video study of the Gospel of Matthew; Wayne and I will continue the survey of the New Testament. There are also classes for children and youth as well.

Results of the congregational vote show unity and harmony. The men all received a 96% or greater confidence vote. The spending plan was confirmed by nearly 99%. I hope you have prayerfully considered how you can help us not only reach this spending plan goal, but exceed it. There were several positive comments (only one note of discontent).

THANKS!

Dwight

Count Your Blessings (Instead of Sheep) Irving Berlin

When I'm worried and I can't sleep I count my blessings instead of sheep And I fall asleep Counting my blessings

When my bankroll is getting small I think of when I had none at all And I fall asleep Counting my blessings

I think about a nursery And I picture curly heads And one by one I count them As they slumber in their beds

If you're worried and you can't sleep Just count your blessings instead of sheep And you'll fall asleep Counting your blessings
