Catering and BarAre we allowed to use our own caterers?Bivouac are solely responsible for the catering of all weddings and events. We do not permit outside caterers. Please see our catering and bar pack for details or ask our team.

Can we do the bar ourselves?Bivouac run a fully stocked bar and the prices are standard bar prices. If you have any specific requirements then we will happily discuss these with you.

Can we bring our own reception wine? You are welcome to bring your own reception wine. There would be a corkage charge involved which includes serving and chilling. All wine is cleared away at 6pm when the Bivouac bar kicks in. We will serve your opened bottles behind the bar until it runs out. Corkage costs: £8 red and white wine £10 sparkling £12 champagne.

Can we get some nibbles in the woodland after our ceremony? We offer canapes alongside your drinks reception. If you have other ideas our catering team will be more than happy to discuss these with you.

When does your bar close? Our licence states that we stop serving alcohol at 11pm. The bar is packed away by midnight and after this if the party is still going on, you are asked to change tempo and vibe and a chilled wind down begins.

Woodland ceremonyWhat if it rains? You will have planned a wet weather contingency with us which the day before the ceremony you will be asked by us if you wish to turn to. We would have asked you by 11am giving everyone time to change plans. We believe that some rain is ok but torrential rain is not. We have the right to cancel the woodland option for the plan B if we think the rain is too heavy.

Can we decorate the woodland ourselves? You are very welcome to personalise this space. All we ask is that we are kept in the detail of what you are planning, that no fire is involved and that you are responsible for the set up and clear up within our agreed timeframe.

How many can we have at the reception? You are welcomed to have up to 120 guests. Please note however that seating is only provided for up to 80 guests. There is room for standing and mingling all around.

Is the woodland exclusively ours for that time? No. There is a public footpath which runs through it. Our team will ask folk are respectful towards the ceremony and the area will be signposted with relevant information regarding your event and access to the woodland and Temple.

Can we have our ceremony in the Temple? No. The space does not lend itself well to this, however you are welcomed to mingle in and around the Temple after the ceremony.

Can we choose where the ceremony takes place? We have a perfect location prepared for you outside the Temple. At this time we do not offer any other site.

FAQs

Page 9: Bivouac Wedding Portfolio

ReceptionCan we party till dawn? Our licence states that all amplified music is turned off at 11pm. By midnight any band or DJ we ask to be packed away and off site. You can however have a chill out around the camp fire or change vibe for an acapella experience. We ask that the reception venue is emptied and shut down by 2am. Please note: After parties are not accepted in the accommodation.

When can we gain access to decorate and personalise the venue tents?Normally by Thursday late afternoon and all day Friday you are welcomed to make this your own. We will have planned this in with you during the months previously.

Is there disabled access to the tents? We offer a door to door service in the site 4x4 (but this means the passengers) need to be able to travel in one. We have a gravel pathway from the road to the tent and coir matting takes you into the venue itself.

What is your maximum capacity? For quality and experience we ask that the maximum guest numbers are 120.

Site facilitiesWhere can I dry my hair if the accommodation does not have electricity? We have a lovely shower block which has two hair dryers and plug points for straighteners too. We also have a room set up for you for the weekend with plug points, mirrors and a place to get ready. Most people find the accommodation is perfectly fine, but for a wedding we appreciate you might want a little extra attention!

Will the toilet block be near enough for our guests? We strongly suggest you hire in our recommended posh toilet supplier so you have these right at the venue spot. However, the Bivouac toilet block is only a short walk away. Those heavily pregnant or elderly might struggle with this.

Have we got the site exclusively to ourselves for the weekend? No. We are keen never to shut the site to our local community, so the cafe remains open. However, we have planned the events in a different area with its own team and so far this has never caused any issues.
