Replacing the Transfer Belt Unit

When the time to replace the transfer belt unit is reached, the message

[Replace image transfer belt.] appears. Printing can continue even after this

message appears; however, since the print quality is reduced, the transfer

belt unit should be replaced immediately.

1 Turn off the machine and discon-

nect the power cord and inter-

face cover.

2 Open the machine’s front cover.

3 Remove the all toner cartridges,all imaging units and waste toner

bottle.

4 Pull the lever, and then open the

right door.

Before opening the right

door, fold up Tray 1.

5 Remove the top part of the right

door.

6 Push down the guides.

7 Hold the handles, and then care-

fully pull out the transfer belt

unit.

Be sure to keep thetransfer belt level; other-

wise, the transfer belt

may be scratched.

8 Prepare a new transfer belt unit.

Be careful not to touch

the surface of the belt.

Do not remove the blue

lever.

9 Remove the protective cover

from the new transfer belt unit.

10 Insert the new transfer belt unit

along the rails.

Fully insert it until it locks

into place.

Be sure to keep the

transfer belt level; other-

wise, the transfer belt

may be scratched.

11 Push up the guides.

12 Install the top part of the right

door.

13 Close the right door.

14 Install the all toner cartridges, all

imaging units and waste toner

bottle.

When closing the front

cover, press the area of

the cover with small pro-

 jections.

16 Reconnect the power cord, and

turn on the machine.

17 Reset the counter in the [Admin Settings]/[Maintenance Menu]/[Supplies]/

[Consumables Replace]/[Transfer Belt Unit] menu.
