DESCRIPTION

Educators agree that a child who maintains a solid attendance record is twice as likely to graduate from high school. The direct correlation between attendance and graduation rates as well as attendance and state-level funding are vitally important to the success of students, schools and districts. The Blackboard Connect™ and AlertNow™ solutions help thousands of school leaders throughout the US to overcome truancy issues such as low average daily attendance. Targeted communications to parents about their child’s absenteeism have proven to solidify enrollment numbers. Join us as K-12 school leaders share their successes using Blackboard Connect and AlertNow solutions to improve attendance by: • Informing parents of daily absenteeism/truancies/tardiness • Reinforcing district attendance standards • Encouraging teachers and administrators to take a proactive approach to improving enrollment Join Angela Shelley, Assistant Director of Public Information at Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Denise Angevine, Enrollment Specialist in New Hanover County Schools and James Cernanec Director of Application Development and Support at White Hat Management as they share the unique ways they are using Blackboard’s mass communication solutions to improve student attendance and increase funding.
