EXPLORE, PLAN and ACT Reading and Math Benchmarks

• The ACT College Readiness Benchmarks were established from a large study of over 10,000 High Schools and over 400,000 students.

• The validity of the EXPLORE, PLAN and ACT College Readiness Benchmarks was investigated with a study of 76,000 students and over 90 colleges.

• The Benchmarks represent the ACT score that predicts with 75% accuracy that the student (who received this score in High School) will get a freshman English grade of “C” or better and with 50% accuracy that the student will get a grade of “B” or better in freshman English.
