Blue Planet sparks the imagination and curiosity of your students
Blue Planet is an EFL science series for primary-level students. It integrates English language instruction and content instruction in science, promoting language acquisition in a wide range of topics and applications.
The science topics presented in Blue Planet stimulate students’ natural curiosity about the world around them. The topics are grade-level appropriate, but have been adapted to the language proficiency of an EFL classroom.

Students’ different learning styles have been taken into account. Attractive visual material in the Student Book, Project Book, Flashcards, and Posters appeals to visual learners.
Hands-on learning is an important concept in all children’s education, particularly at the primary level. Manipulation and experimental learning help students make a connection between what they can see, do, and touch and the scientific rationale for these things. There are numerous hands-on activities and experiments in the Student Book, Project Book, and Teacher’s Guide that will make learning science interesting and relevant for both students and teachers.
Additional activities for those students who are auditory or kinesthetic learners are included throughout the Teacher’s Guide.

Students are introduced to a variety of science topics including life processes, plants, animals, ecosystems, forces and motion, electricity, and materials as well as the basis for scientific enquiry including gathering, presenting, and evaluating scientific evidence. FoldablesThese three-dimensional paper creations enhance learning by creating tangible organizers for new vocabulary or scientific concepts.
Throughout all six levels students create foldables to summarize and review key learning tasks.
Hands-on scienceExperiments performed individually, in pairs, or in small groups allow students to observe scientific concepts first hand. As students progress through the series, these experiments guide them through the scientific method of making a hypothesis, testing it through experimentation, observing and recording results, and drawing a conclusion.

For Levels 1 to 3, eighty flashcards per level with key vocabulary aid teachers in presenting and reviewing key language.
For Levels 1 to 3, five electronic posters per level (on the CD-ROM) provide opportunities for presenting and reviewing material in a large context. For Levels 4 to 6, ten colorful posters per level continue to provide visual stimuli and excellent classroom opportunities for enhancing learning.
The CD-ROM for each level includes four interactive activities per unit, and the mp3 audio files of the reading texts and Words to Know of the Student Books.
Each CD-ROM for Levels 1-3 also includes five posters.
