Keep each set separate in baggies or small envelopes. Have the child take Set 1 and place the cards in a row across the top of a rug or table. Using the movable alphabet, have them put out 3 (or 4) sets of the ending sound. For example, in Set 1 they would put the letters “ink” (from the movable alphabet) three times underneath the “ink” card. Then challenge them to think of a beginning sound that would make a word. So, for “ink” they might add a “dr”, “th”, and “p” to each set of “ink” letters. Have them continue until they’ve thought of words for each ending blend in the set.
