THIS PART IS LEGAL FOR USE ONLY IN COMPETITION RACING VEHICLES AS DEFINED UNDER CALIFORNIA LAW, AND IS NOT LEGAL FOR USE IN ANY OTHER MOTOR VEHICLE. California law defines a "racing vehicle" as "a competition vehicle not used on public highways." (Calif. Health & Safety Code 39048) This part may only be used on competition racing vehicles operated exclusively on a closed course in conjunction with a sanctioned racing event. Competition-only motor vehicles may not be driven to a racing event on a public highway and must be transported on a trailer or other carrier. USE OF THIS PART IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE MAY SUBJECT YOU TO FINES AND PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF FEDERAL AND/OR STATE LAW, WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FROM BURGER MOTORSPORTS, INC, AND CAN VOID YOUR VEHICLE'S WARRANTY. It is your responsibility to comply with all applicable federal and state laws relating to use of this part, and Burger Motorsports, INC hereby disclaims any liability resulting from the failure to use this part in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws. First remove the engine cover by pulling up on the front and the from the rear.
Securely lift vehicle on either jacks stand or a lift.
On the top of the front grill remove two T25 torx screws and pull the grill forward and up to remove.
Next remove the bumper bolts. Mark the position of the bolts before removal so they are put back in the same position.
Under the front of the car remove three T25 torx screws securing the bottom section of the bumper to the support in
front of the belly pan.
Remove the belly pan by removing eight T25 torx screws that secure it.
Remove the T25 torx screws from both left and right wheel well liners. The front wheels can be removed for easier
access if needed.
(Left Photo)
With the fender liner peeled back or removed unscrew the T25 torx screw that holds the corner of the bumper cover to
the front fender on both sides.
Remove the four T25 screws on to remove the plastic pieces that
were to the right and left of the under-tray in front of the tires.
(Above Photo)
If equipped with headlight washers locate the windshield washer
reservoir and disconnect the line by squeezing the blue tabs. Be sure
to have a clean bucket. Fluid will leak out. You can reuse it later.
Remove the line from the black retaining clips on the bottom of the
reservoir.
Carefully remove the front bumper by firmly pulling on the outer upper corners of the bumper. Now carefully pull the
whole bumper forward and slightly away from the vehicle. Carefully disconnect the driving light harness and the parking
sensor harness if equipped. There may be other harnesses depending on model.
Remove the T30 torx screws that hold both right and left upper support braces on.
On the left upper support brace there is a hood latch cable that must be separated. Pull the right cable out and swing
the cover open.
Next remove both headlights.
Disconnect the headlight harness in the middle back of the headlight. Loosen T25 torx screw #1 but don’t remove all the
way. #2 must be removed completely. Pull the
headlights straight out to remove.
Now disconnect the airbag sensor and the other sensor
harness on the right side of the car behind the
radiator. There’s an airbag sensor on the left side of
the radiator that needs to be disconnected also. Shown
below.
Disconnect the radiator fan harness on the left side of the engine and
remove the fan shroud assembly.
Push both fan shroud clips in at the top show in the picture to the left.
With the clips depressed the fan shroud will pull up and out.
Fan shores has been removed to show clip in picture to the left.
Underneath the front of the car remove both rubber factory intercooler hoses.
Now drain the radiator into a clean bucket so it can be reused to refill later. Pull the metal clip off of the lower radiator
hose with a flat head screwdriver, wiggle it off and drain the coolant. The coolant will splash so make sure you have a
bucket close to the hose. Coolant may be hot so use caution or let the vehicle cool.
Remove the upper hose when the coolant has been drained.
Lower radiator hose shown below.
Upper hose shown below.
Before loosening the 4 bolts on both sides of the car you will need to either support the whole front assembly from the
lower bolt holes by sourcing longer bolts to support the front assembly.
or by resting it on something.
The extended bolt circled in red aids in
tilting and supporting the front assembly
forward for easy access to the radiator
and intercooler.
Or
You can rest the front assembly on
something and pul it forward. In this case
disconnect the harnesses on the right and
left horns.
Now remove the radiator.
Next, to remove the factory intercooler bend these two clips towards the center. Use care they are fragile.
Next Press clips in on both sides of the air conditioning condenser and release the intercooler. There are some upper
clips on both sides of the top of the intercooler that also need to be undone.
Now replace the intercooler with the upgraded BMS unit
Transfer the plastic clips from the factory intercooler to the BMS unit.
The BMS intercooler clips into the air conditioning condenser.
Note when assembling the BMS intercooler alignment tabs were purposely left larger than the factory tabs to
accommodate multiple applications. These tabs are not used to retain the intercooler in place and fitment will look like
the photo below when properly installed.
The rest of the installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to connect all electrical harnesses as you work back
through the install.
Note when refilling coolant engine will need to warm up a bit to allow its thermostat to open so you can determine how
much coolant is needed.
