Dear friends,
It is a nice feeling to share the progress of BMSIT&M
with you. The first quarter of the year 2016 has
already set the tone for the rest of the year. It was truly
a noteworthy quarter.
It is heartening to know that the three Six-Day Faculty
Development Programmes conducted back-to-back in
January attracted a large number of faculty members
from other colleges. The collaborative effort of
departments in conducting the FDPs was exemplary.
Techtransform-2016, an entrepreneurial fest
organized by BMSIT&M, was a maiden and unique
attempt to develop start-up culture in our students.
This two-day programme, replete with a lot of technical
events and a panel discussion, was thoroughly enjoyed
by the students and staff alike. Mr. Ravi Gururaj, Vice
President, NASSCOM, was the main speaker on the
opening day and this augured well to reinforce the
efforts of Tech Transform. While six top executives
from the industry guided our students on career choice
on Employers' Day, a large number of alumni thronged
their alma mater rejoicing their past memories. Utsaha,
the annual techno-cultural event of BMSIT&M
provided a platform for the exhibition of multifarious
talents of students and attracted a huge crowd.
The above programs complemented several new
initiatives. An advanced materials research laboratory
was established jointly by the departments of Physics
and Chemistry with sum of Rs. 65 lakhs
from DST, New Delhi. The laboratory has already
started providing consultancy services. The
Department of Information Science & Engg
established a new computer laboratory. BMSIT&M
signed two MOUs; one with National Design Research
research grant
Forum and another with Steinbes (India) Ltd., with the
latter offering a product development project.
I am glad to share that 49 of
our faculty members received industry internship
and the rest are scheduled to undergo internship
during the next vacation. The number of publications
has also surged significantly. The Local Inquiry
Committee of VTU visited us in view of our application
for permanent affiliation of several programmes and
recognition of several of our departments as research
centres. Application seeking accreditation by NBA is
being filed, preparation for NAAC accreditation is on
and the list goes on.
I offer my heartfelt congratulations to our students for
winning the Bangalore North Zone Cricket
Championship, securing the Bangalore Zone runners
up position in volleyball (women) and winning Gold
Medal in pole vault, conducted by VTU.
These achievements are a proof of the potential of our
students, faculty and staff members. Once they realize
their capabilities, they become unstoppable. Our
institute and its management will help them realize
their own potential and facilitate their development.
We derive a lot of pleasure in doing that.
Congratulations to all of you once again for making all
these milestones happen in the last quarter.
Dr. Mohan Babu G.N.

websites of international institutes such as Stanford
University, University of Nevada, Drexel University
and many more. The website follows a single page
layout scheme with six main pages branching into
various aspects of the college. These pages contain
links that branch into individual pages covering
specific aspects of the college. All the pages are
dynamic and mobile responsive. The website is
efficiently designed making navigation simple.
Goals of the websiteBMSIT&M recognizes the World Wide Web as an
important electronic publication medium that
facilitates its teaching, learning, research, student life
and communications and administrative functions.
The college website was designed and developed to
promote direct access to information resources and
increase the visibility of the college. The web site
provides access to an organized and specifically
designed gateway to useful web-based content. It is
maintained to:
