EDUCATION

Our future success depend s on the know ledge and capabi l i ty of our younger generat ion. In the past ,BARISAN N ASION AL has w orked ha rd to provide un iversal access to educat ion :

There are no w 7,515 p r im ary schoo ls, 1,902 secondary schools, 18 universi t ies and co l leges, and 16 po lytechnics.

There has been a large inc rease in s tuden ts com ple t ing Form 5 , from 65% in 1988 to 80% in 2000 .

Enrolment rates in pre-schools and universi t ies have doubled s ince 1990.
