The concept for the brief was to create a range of products that could be used to target tourists visiting east asia andpromote awareness for the killing of manta rays that is common in some countries of the area. The idea was to achieve this by creating packaging for airline meals which directs the passenger to an article within the in-flight magazine which goes in to much more detail. CONCEPT

I wanted to create a logo that would represent a Manta Ray and communicate their shape and size through image and type.I wanted the logo to be easily recogniseable and relatable to the campaign and to be memorable. It had to be able to be used across a range of products to unify them.

I have used illustrations of rays to draw attention to the product and to communicate the idea that Manta Rays have value. The illustrations are designed for a two colour print job: Key Black and Pantone 2985 M. The illustration style has been kept simple, using hatching to represent shadows and give the designs more detail.

The meal packaging needed to be bold and eyecatching to grab the tourist passenger attention. This packaging would be produced as an offset lithographic print run and would be die cut and creased before sending flat packed to the airline for quick and simple assembly. The net has been created to hold a single main course plastic pot as is common on flights. PACKAGING

Some East Asian countries use Manta ray as a main ingredient or as a substitute formore expensive ingredients in their meals. If Manta rays continue to be hunted for food they will die out.
Make sure you know what you are eating.
