Get some reindeer coloured card, and measure the circumference of your head (if you don’t have measuring tape, just use the card). Cut the card so it fits around your head. Leave 3cm spare to glue the hat together. Make the height between 10–15cm (enough for Rudolf’s face!). 2. Glue or staple the ends of the card together, making a tube shape. That’s Rudolf’s face. 3. On another piece of coloured card (a nice Christmassy red looks good), draw around your hands and cut out the shapes. Stick these to each side of the tube to make antlers. 4. Decorate Rudolf’s face – add googly eyes, a bobble nose (red of course) and draw the mouth. Instructions

Instructions

1. Trace out two circles on some card. You could use the bottom of a small 500ml bottle as your template, but the bigger the circles, the bigger the bobble. Draw around a coin to make an inner circle in both. Cut out the middle, then you’ll have two card rings.

2. Place the rings together. Cut a length of wool 1-3m (the less you use the easier it will be to thread). Wind the wool around the rings passing it through the centre hole. If you run out of wool, don’t worry, just cut another length of wool and keep going. You can double or triple over the wool to make threading a little quicker.

3. The more wool you wrap around the ring, the fluffier your bobble will be. When covered in wool and you can hardly see the circle in the centre, cut the wool at the edge of the circle and cut around in between the two card rings.

4. When you’ve cut all the way round pull the rings apart slightly. Now get some spare wool and tie a knot or two around the centre of the bobble and in between the two card rings.

5. Once the knots have been tied, pull the rings apart. Ta dah! You’ve got your very own festive bobble. Now just tie the strands together, use a safety pin to attach it to your Christmas jumper, and start getting festive.
