Canberra Excursion EOIs Thank you to everyone who has returned their EOIs for the excursion. There are only 22 places left. If you are intending to return your EOI with a $50 non-refundable deposit please do so soon. Once places are filled we will open a waitlist. Where to in Canberra? Old Parliament House Old Parliament House, known formerly as the Provisional Parliament House, was the seat of the Parliament of Australia from 1927 to 1988. The building began operation on 9th May 1927 after the Parliament’s relocation from Melbourne to the new capital, Canberra. In 1988, the Commonwealth Parliament transferred to the new Parliament House on Capital Hill. It also serves as a venue for temporary exhibitions, lectures and concerts. Students will learn about the history of Australian Parliament, how our leaders are chosen, how news from the House was relayed to the outside world and re-enact early periods of life in chambers.

Behaviour Code for Students Please find attached a copy of the Department of Education’s ‘Behaviour Code for Students’ and a copy of ‘Boggabri Public School Behaviour Code’. The behaviour codes were recently ratified at the P&C meeting and have now been discussed with the students. Students are aware of what constitutes acceptable and expected behaviour as well as consequences for unacceptable behaviours. Attendance and uniform requirements are two areas that we are striving very hard to maintain this year. Sharing Culture Workshop We are very sorry that this workshop did not happen last Thursday. The workshop is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 27th February. Any student who has paid and will not be here on Tuesday will have their money returned, for those students who have not paid there is still time to send in a permission note and $2. K-6 Assembly We are having an assembly on Friday 2nd March. There will be Bronze commendations awarded and performances from some of our senior students. Swimming for Sport Students have been participating in school swimming each Friday. They are having an amazing time and honing their swimming skills. Great job everyone. Please remember the $1.00 entry fee if you have not already paid in advance, thank you.
