FANCI FREEZE—Shakes, malts, spins and sundaes are what have made Fanci Freeze a Boise favorite. It also serves burgers, some of the crispiest Tots in town and even a grilled cheese for the non-meat-eater. 1402 W. State St., 208-344-8661. $ SU.

HYDE PARK PUB—If there’s one little joint that’s always packed, it’s Hyde Park Pub. LULU’S FINE PIZZA/SUPERB SUSHI—Big Apple-style gourmet pie for pizza lov-ers of everywhere. Check out the usual toppings or get adventurous. A great North End pizza place that prides itself on semi-sophisticated wine pairing and a fine beer list. ADDIE’S—The language of breakfast is spoken here. You’ve never seen so many meats followed by “& Eggs” on one menu. 510 W. Main St., 208-338-1198. $ SU OM .

ALIA’S COFFEEHOUSE—Fresh-made bagels daily for breakfast and lunch, the best looking dessert case in town with chocolate chip cookie dough bars, and for those who must, a selection of salads. 908 W. Main St., 208-338-1299. $ SU .

ANGELL’S—One of downtown Boise’s mainstays, Angell’s is known for its steaks and seafood. In warm weather, Angell’s patio is a lush respite in the concrete jungle. Dress it up or go casual. 909 Main St., 208-342-4900, www.angellsbarandgrill.com. $$-$$$

BARDENAY—The beer and liquor selec-tion at the country’s first restaurant distillery has to be seen to be believed. Bardenay is a destination restaurant and bar for the crowd who can’t decide between a good glass of wine and a good martini. 610 Grove St., 208-426-0538, www.bardenay.com. $$ SU OM.
