SENIOR ADULT NEWSAfternoon at the Movies

Tuesday June 26, 2018 at 1pm This month’s movie will be “Murder on the Orient Express” with David Suchet, Jessica Chastain, Hugh Bonneville, Toby Jones and Barbara Hershey. A lavish train ride unfolds into a stylish and suspenseful mystery. Thirteen strangers and one man’s race to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again. Bring a friend, we provide popcorn, and a soda.

Terrific Tuesday – July 17th starting at 9:30amJoin us for our annual picnic on July 17th that will be held at Sterne Park, located at 5800 South Spotswood Street in Littleton. The covered pavillian will protects us from the sun, and there are picnic tables for seating. Lunch will be served about 11am so we can enjoy the outdoors before it starts getting hot. Coffee will be available when you arrive at 9:30am. Children are always welcome. Please call the church office to make your reservation by noon on July 16th. If you need a ride from the church contact Rev. Jeff.

The Spirituality of Aging Sunday, July 22 at 12:15pm

Aging is a difficult subject. It leads to new understandings, new ways of living, and new changes that come sometimes in difficult ways. We don’t get a lot of opportunity to discuss openly what aging means to us in practical ways or how it affects and shapes our faith.

You are invited by our Senior Adult Ministries to discuss the topic of aging in this open seminar called “The Spirituality of Aging” on Sunday, July 22nd at 12:15 in Grant Fellowship Hall. Members of the LUMC community from various walks of life will discuss their own journeys on the practical and spiritual aspects of aging, and there will be time for you to share and respond.

There is no charge to share in this time, and lunch will be provided. Please sign up in the office by noon on Monday, July 16 to reserve your space!

Seniors on the Town - Wednesday July 25th

Our July trip will take us to the Ship Rock Grille at Red Rock Amphitheatre in Morrison. The Ship Rock Grille is built around two massive boulders and located inside the Visitor Center at the Red Rocks Amphitheater. Following lunch there’s no better place to see the Amphitheaters famous stairs than looking down from outside of the grille. The van will drop us off and pick us up very close to the restaurant. We will depart the church parking lot at 10:30am. There will be a $2.00 charge per person for the van due at the time of making your reservation. Lunch is on your own. Limit 14 reservations.

YOUTH MINISTRY HAPPENINGSLOGOS

LOGOS (greek for “the Word”) will focus on Bible verse memorization and discussion. LOGOS will meet next on Monday, June 25th from 1-2pm at Dirt Coffee. Bring your own money for coffee/food. Memorize that week’s verse and recite it the following week, and we’ll buy your drink or snack!

Mission Expeditions Mission Expeditions combine a morning of service with an afternoon of fun! Open to both middle school and high school youth.

• June 27th – Habitat for Humanity Specific times and details for the event will be sent the week before in the LUMC Youth Happenings email and posted on the LUMC Facebook page. Contact Nathan or Becky @ (303) 794-6379 for more info.

High School Mission Team Week of July 7th – 14th

LUMC’s high school mission team will be leaving on July 7th to spend the week working with the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission’s Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. We will commission the team in worship on Sunday, July 1st at both services. As always, we thank our LUMC family for your constant support and prayers as our youth are sent out to serve.

Vacation Bible SchoolVacation Bible School is scheduled for July 23rd-July 26th (M-Th).
